The thing is really nice. The only problem is that you need to lean it back a bit cause the water catch in the front is not big enough and you get water on things. Its not like a crazy puddle but if its on wood you want to watch it.

Nice sound. Very splashy.,
By It has a little guard piece that is supposed to catch the flyout water, but the floor around the fountain is still always wet. I had to lay and constantly replace towels in front of the fountain which is really unattractive. I ended up letting it sit in a corner unused because of the mess that it created. My next step is to try to make a little mesh screen that will keep the water from splashing when it hits the pool at the bottom. I'm also going to put some plants around the base. They'll probably appreciate the extra moisture. Side Note: The light at the top is waaaay too bright, and you can't turn the light off while keeping the fountain on. It completely detracts from the fountain. I just moved the bulb around in the fountain so that it was hidden and didn't let out any light.

The Hunter brand in general for water fountains is TERRIBLE. I tried out two $300+ models and each one needed to be sent back at least three times each until i finally gave up on them. This thing.. I have no idea why I wasted more time with another Hunter fountain, but I threw caution to the wind after seeing all the 4/5 star reviews. Out of the box the exit entry for the power cord was a severe leak source. Packing it up with caulk mostly fixed the problem, but with hardwood floors, I am not about to risk having this thing leak all over the place. The usual appeal of water fountains is the sound of water flowing gently over rock and lightly splashing into a water source below. This thing pours straight down into a water basin, which basically just sounds like someone is peeing into a toilet. "lean it back" suggests another reviewer, because the water has a tendency to splash out onto the floor and surrounding walls due to a tiny splash guard. This is an understatement, the splash guard is a joke, and water splashes out. The documentation states that the water speed controller has a speed dial. While the dial has a generous arc, it functions only as an ON or OFF switch in actuality. You have either no water flow at all, or it's splishy splashy everywhere.
The quality of the materials is literally ghetto.. the silver-ish paint makes it look like they tried to doll up plastic to make it look like metal or stone. I wouldn't consider even bothering with a replacement, as that would just be another copy of a crappy product. At best, it is dollar store quality. The other review with the pic of a staged living room setup is a massive joke. No one in their right mind would don this thing in a seemingly posh styled place like that.
