As I was reading these reviews, I noticed someone asked for info on replacing the letters... http://www.leapfrog.com has support for each of its products. They replaced both of my pens for me for my Leap Pads! Super customer service! They have this posted regarding the letter replacement for this product. Question Can I order new letters for the Phonics Desk™ learning system? Answer Yes. We will replace up to three letters at no charge. You can purchase a full set of replacement letters by calling our Consumer Services department at 1-800-701-LEAP. A representative will take your order. The cost for the entire alphabet is $6 (shipping and handling included). Or, you can send a check or money order to: LeapFrog Consumer Services Letter Replacement 563 N. Teaches Reading, October 5, 2003

I bought this for my daughter who is just turning four. She loves it, and so do I. My daughter has a lot of fun with this toy and as a teacher I am amazed by all that she is learning from the Learn to Read Desk. It teaches phonics, rhyming, and listening skills. The desk has a volume control which more toys should have. The cards are stored in the desk. This is a great buy for children 3 to 6.

This is a newer version of the toy, and is excellent. Easy for my 3 year old to figure out, and doubles as an alphabet upper case puzzle that talks out each letter. The cards store neatly inside, but it would have been nice if they had spots to store the three additional letter/combos on top as well. My son really enjoys the music and rhyme buttons. He approaches each card as a puzzle to fill in with the appropriate shape. So far he knows only a few of the alphabets by name and sight(the ones in his name) There is room to store at least one additional lesson card set without bending the cards as well as the additional letters inside. You can buy each card set directly from leapfrog for twelve plus shipping if you can't find it at a store. If it did stop working in 15 min which it has not done for me, I would suggest checking batteries, I found that lights and sound eat up quite a bit of battery life, and our leap frog toys are not particularly battery efficient. He also really loved his cousins Phonics writing desk, so do look at that.
