Limbo Elmo a hoot; familiar, catchy tune not TOO annoying,

Just got back from spending a weekend away with 5 other adults, a 5-year-old & a 22-month-old. One of the adults was my sister; the two kids were my nephews. Anyhow...my toddler nephew just got Limbo Elmo & adores it. His older brother has fun with it also. Limbo Elmo was new to the rest of us. I'd already encountered Hokey-Pokey Elmo at a 3-year-old's birthday party, so it was quite a kick to see Limbo Elmo, a toy cleverly created in the same vein. Elmo has his usual shiny, red fur, but is jauntily dressed in a tropical shirt, white pants & cool flip-flips - an outfit that would do Jimmy Buffet proud! When you press his right hand, he starts singing the Limbo song (you know....THAT limbo song), wiggles around & bends backward to an impressive degree. All of this works best on a hard surface & since Elmo moves forward, he'll fall off if he's close to the edge of a table. If he's knocked over on his back, he says something to that effect (don't remember exactly what), then says, "Thank you!" when he's set back on his feet. Anyhow, back to my family....most of us went right to the Elmo toy when little nephew started fussing (didn't always quiet him)...we'd find ourselves singing the song (usually someone would tell the singer to shut up!), so obviously, it wasn't anywhere near as annoying as other kids' songs like the Barney song or "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round & Round" I hope my dad got some video of little nephew dancing along with Limbo Elmo, 'cause it was sooooo adorable. For $20, this toy doesn't seem like a bad value.

My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday. The next day she was playing with the limbo stick...each end pulls out from it. When she shut the stick, it shut quickly and pinched her leg in it. I really had to work to get it open to free her leg. She has a good size spot and bruise. The doll is fine but, the stick is a hazard.

The instructions say to put Elmo on a hard floor to ensure it works, but that doesn't make much of a difference. It falls over and the music doesn't last long enough. I liked the Rock'n Roll Elmo best because he had a guitar and played music while rockin'. That was more entertaining for this age group. This is more frustrating -- even me, a grown up, is frustrated with this toy. The limbo stick can get lost easily in the piles of toys not attached to anything. Too much effort between Elmo and the stick. Chicken Dance or Hokey Pokey Elmo look like better choices, but I have not tried them.

My grandson has developed a love for Elmo so I got this for his birthday. He LOVES it. I had read where other people wrote in about him falling over but thats not the case with the one we got. He's only fallen once although he has been knocked over a few times. Its so cute because when he does fall he asks for help getting back up and thanks you for the help. He dances, sings and talks. He's activated simply by squeezing his hand which Liam figured out in about 3 minutes. Once Elmo starts Liam just laughs and dances with him. This toy says for 2 years and up but our little guy is only 1 and just loves this toy so I would think all little guys his age would. The added bonus is the price is great, I would tell anyone to buy this toy and plan on ordering 2 more for my other grandbabies for Christmas.

Cool toy. I have a six month old and he is too young to play with Limbo Elmo. But it does get his attention. He has Chicken Dance Elmo too and loves it. This toy is not good on carpet becasue the speaker is in the feet and the sound gets muffled (not to the point where you cant use it but it does make it quiter, so that may be a good thing).I would buy it again

My one year old twin boys love him- but only for about a minute. he sings the limbo song, and then they go over and knock him down, because when you do, Elmo says, "OOPS!! elmo limbo'ed too far- can you help him up please?" and then when you pick him up, he says, "THANK YOU!!" Too cute! the limbo stick is useless, but they now know who elmo is and when he comes on the tv screen, they go nuts! Plus, he teaches them that when you help someone, you say thank you.very cute toy. I would buy chicken dance elmo if it's as cute. All that really matters is that he makes my boys laugh.

Well my son has SO MANY elmo toys that dance and sing and I must say this one is GREAT! Ours has never fallen over unless my son pushed him and the song and dance are TOO CUTE!! It makes everyone wanna get up and dance my 1 year old gets a kick out of it and even shakes his arms like elmo! The limbo stick is quite irritating though I would think they would have attached it to elmo! Its basically pointless my son chews on it but thats about it! Overall this toy is GREAT just minus the limbo stick!

My son is one and does like this toy. There isn't much that he can do with this toy so he just watches it. The first one we had he went over and picked it up and it broke. He did not even do much to the toy he just picked it up to look at it. But now we have a new one and we have not had any trouble yet.
