I don't know about you but I find paying upwards of thirty-dollars for a video adapter to be inexplicably expensive (other than greed that is). I've bought my fair share of name brand Apple gear as well as some OEM versions when the price difference is large. This is one example where the OEM is more than suitable. It performs admirably and allows me to port my video to an external monitor at 1920x1080. I've been using this adapter for a few months and have had no issues with it. If you want to pay a lot less and get exactly the same adapter as the Apple original, this one won't leave you disappointed.

This thing works great for spanning my imac out to an external monitor. For the price, it is definitely worth picking up over the apple version. The quality is somewhat less solid, but it does the trick.

The description is very deceptive. The mini dvi does not fit on a 13 inch macbook pro, so this product is a complete waste... Now I have to buy another one..........

it's so nice not having to spend hundreds of bucks for apple tv or whatever those hard drives are that cost a ton of money to connect the internet to your tv. it's great being able to show people notes during a meeting, watch youtube videos, watch hulu/net flix tv shows or movies, share pictures from iPhoto, etc., all on a 55" tv. i've been impressed with the quality of the connection as well. it doesn't look AS good as my computer screen, but ALMOST. much better visual quality than i expected.

as a side note, although this should be a given, we don't always think about it - you must also have an audio connection because this is just a video connection, so make sure you factor that into whatever tv/computer system you're trying to develop with this. WELL WORTH IT.

If only I could find a $5 substitute for every over-priced Apple accessory, I would be thrilled and Steve Jobs will be poorer. I just read in the papers yesterday that Apple is giving every iPhone 4 user a $3 case to shield the antenna, yet it sells the same case for $29 on its site. What a scam!

I was going to trash my iMac after the screen started to show vertical lines, and a growing number of them that is! Then I decided to give the mini-DVI port a shot and use a second LCD panel as a mirror monitor so the kids can keep playing their favorite online games without me shelling out another $1000-plus to make Apple richer. Well, once I plugged in the adapter and a DVI cable, the mirror monitor is up and running without a glitch. The old iMac can last a while longer while the kids grow out of their diapers!!!

The seller delivered as promised. Actually, over-delivered and under-promised. The shipping notice says it would take 7-9 business days, I got mine in 2 days. Obviously, they don't want to be blamed in case USPS can't deliver. Maybe they should now source every accessory Apple sells and undercut their price. After all, everything labeled Apple is made in China nowadays, why should Apple be allowed to corner the market!

I have Apple's adapter. This one was much cheaper, but appears to be built better. It works great!

I did NOT receive the "mini-DVI" as described here. It is the standard DVI adapter. It does not fit the 13" MacBook. What a waste!

This adapter works great... when I first got it I thought it was not the right one, since I didn't have my Cinema Display 20" in front of me, but when I got home and tried it, it worked PERFECTLY!!!

I think it's just a matter of making sure what's the adapter you really need.

Sometimes (once in 10 times) it does not connect well and I have to wiggle it a bit. Otherwise, its been great.

The product works great and for about 1/8 the price of what the APPLE store charges. It allows you to hook your APPLE laptop directly to a monitor.
