5.0 out of 5 stars New Outburst - BIG improvements on a Great Game
The new Ultimate Outburst was even better than expected. The game play has a lot more going for it because they added several new ways to play. This game always created a lot of excitement, shouting, laughing, and carrying-on. Now it is even better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stick to the original Outburst game
I couldn't believe how BAD this game was. Most cards often have several of the same answers listed. For example: suitcase, a suitcase, the suitcase. I am not joking. It was so prevalent I called the company. They said it is supposed to be that way since people often shout out the same answer! But nowhere in the directions does it tell you to keep shouting out the...

The new Ultimate Outburst was even better than expected. The game play has a lot more going for it because they added several new ways to play. This game always created a lot of excitement, shouting, laughing, and carrying-on. Now it is even better.

The guy who wrote the negative review obviously did not understand that some of the cards are reserved for the new sections of play. And the fact that some have the same answer repeated is not only intentional, but helpful and funny all at the same time.

THIS IS A GREATER GAME - (It was already a classic!)

It's great to play anywhere, and the more people the better, it adds to the confusions and hilarity. The object of the game is to shout out the top ten responses to a question or topic before the time runs out. Sort of like Family Feud, only with more people and more fun. It's really a lot of fun, espicially when you get into it. Expect louder and louder shouts as the time runs out and people are desparate to get their answers out.

I couldn't believe how BAD this game was. Most cards often have several of the same answers listed. For example: suitcase, a suitcase, the suitcase. I am not joking. It was so prevalent I called the company. They said it is supposed to be that way since people often shout out the same answer! But nowhere in the directions does it tell you to keep shouting out the same answers because they may be listed two or three times. Some cards actually only had 4 or 5 different answers & those answers were just repeated to make the list of 10. It's stupid. My sister was in a marketing/previewing group for this game. It wasn't that way when they previewed it. The new twists on the game such as Reverse Outburst are a good idea, but you can do that with the old game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, August 3, 2001

...This version of Outburst (Ultimate)seems to have been thrown together, for the sole purpose of cashing in on the success of the original Outburst(which was excellent). Categories are repeated ("GLASS" and "THINGS MADE OF GLASS") and the idea that the repeated words on the cards is meant to be 'part of the game' is ludicrous. The object of the game is to come up with TEN items for the category, not 3 items plus 4 ways of saying the same item! Sloppy quality control if you ask me.

Outburst is the game of choice when you've got a crowd together and you want to get everyone talking.

It's easy to play, and does not require everyone to be sitting in any particular arrangement, or even at the table together, making it a great Game Night party starter.

It's also perfect when you need to add or remove players from a team during the course of the game without disturbing the game in progress.

The perfect game to make the quietest of your friends jump in and start yelling. I would definately recommend buying this game. If you throw a lot of parties, bar-b-ques, or just have a few over for a small get-together, this game will liven things up. Shear fun for everyone.

If you liked the original Outburst, you'll love this enhanced version. It really adds to the fun with the three sections of the game. Takes some thinking to do the reverse outburst cards, and the challenge can bring you from behind quickly even when you think you may not win. Great and noisy for a group, we went through half the game cards in one sitting because we couldn't quit playing.

I absolutely love this game. It's easy to learn and easy to play, but challenging enough to be played over and over again. (Parker Brothers, we need some refill cards!!) It's great to take on family vacations and it gets everyone involved at the same time. Good for kids or adults. Categories broad enough that it targets expertise of everyone.

One right after another, Hasbro just keeps making the games better and better each time. From Outburst to Outburst II and now with Ultimate Outburst, the fun and challenge continues.

Hasbro has made significant changes in the revealer and game board, each is much better than ever. They have added the Challenge Envelope, which only reveals the category and again this makes the game even better.

In round 1, it the regular outburst rules, however round 2 it the reverse outburst, you get the answers and you have the name the category. The most challenging round it yet to come.

Round 3 is the bidding war round, you bid to see if you can get the most answers. You can use previous game card to add even a greater challenge and there are several category specific add on packs available. Nice job Hasbro!

I bought a number of games before christmas. outburst was the most fun. I played it one-on-one, with medium group at a family party and at work with about 50 clients in 2 teams. It worked for all combinations. I'd like to see if Ultimate outburst has different cards. I see it's not availabe. Too bad.
