Product Description

In pursuit of waking excellence... meet the alarm with a difference! Flying Alarm Clock. SAVE BIG! By its very purpose, the "perfect" alarm clock must be able to outwit the human who sets it! An interesting challenge, to say the least. This Flying Alarm Clock comes as close as I've seen. When the alarm goes off, a helicopter flies into the air, carrying the key to turn off the alarm. The only way to silence the alarm is to get out of bed and find the key! The true late sleeper has finally met their match! Large, easy-to-read backlit display. Alarm / snooze / off settings. Requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Measures 5 1/2 x 4"h. Weighs 7 ozs. Order yours today! Flying Alarm Clock

2.0 out of 5 stars Fragile September 26, 2007

This is a cool concept, and when it actually did what it's supposed to do (before it broke), it did a great job of getting me out of bed in the morning. The problem is that the area in which you're supposed to place the propeller is too fragile. If you don't press down, the alarm doesn't shut off, and if you press too hard (too hard being moderate pressure; I do not have concrete hands), the parts that spin the propeller break.

Have trouble getting up in the morning? Then the Flying Alarm Clock may just be the product for you. For me, however, it was not. The clock works simply enough: the base has a motor that spins the top part at a designated time, causing the top to fly up for a few seconds. When positioned on my nightstand, it would always fly up and land on my wife's face (not good). When I tried putting it on the carpet on the opposite side of the room, I learned that the speaker is on the bottom of the base, and placing it on the carpet makes the alarm inaudible (very not good). The base is elevated, so there is no problem hearing the alarm when it is set on a hard, flat surface.

3.0 out of 5 stars @#$%!!!! January 11, 2008

When this thing goes off, I'm sure it wakes up our next door neighbors too. Incredible wailing siren reminiscent of an air raid. Great for getting my kid out of bed though. Kinda tough putting the propeller back on when all you want to do is smash it after finally finding it under the bed. Wish that it was back lit all the time too as it's tough to see the digital screen in reg.light/dark.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying and Absolutely Perfect December 15, 2011

My boyfriend is a heavy sleeper. I'm sure he could sleep through a skeet shooting exhibition that was being held at the foot of his bed during a Category 5 hurricane that was shredding his house to bits while it was on fire.

This year for Christmas, I purchased him the Flying Alarm Clock and once he set his alarm, he has not been late since. The sound emitted from the speaker on the bottom side of the unit emits an incredibly loud siren once the alarm goes off...that's bad enough to wake the dead. On top of that, the sound of the spinning blade jolts him awake immediately in fear of his life ending. Even if the spinning wheel of hatred atop the unit does not wake him immediately, it plants itself behind his computer desk in his bedroom for impossible retrieval without extensive physical exertion.

The alarm is splendid. I'm sure my boyfriend will never be late again, but I might have an extra load of underwear laundry to do one morning in the very near future...

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk December 27, 2008
This is a piece of junk. If by flying they mean falling off onto the floor, then yes, that is exactly what it does.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy anything else September 12, 2008
Junk. Junk. Junk. Ate a set of batteries in 3 days. No AC adapter provided. Actually, not really all that loud - speaker is underneath the unit. Kids loved it while it worked all of 3 days. Now it gathers dust.

2.0 out of 5 stars flying alarm clock October 19, 2008

Product is pretty cheap/flimsy, doesn't work well, hard to use (set time, alarm, etc.) and difficult to set the prop properly. I'd rate this a 1-2 range and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flying alarm clock July 8, 2008
This product does not work correctly and I plan to return it. The flying piece does not fly, just falls off the stand. Also, it was described as new, but it definitely looks used.

1.0 out of 5 stars A piece of s***
This alarm clock is a piece of s***; do not buy it. It is poorly made, it does not include a charger, and--most importantly--it does not work. Need I say more?

Broke quickly. Helicopter would go off, but only rattle around on the ground. The alarm sound wasn't very loud and not adjustable.

Definitely gets you out of bed. Even for the heaviest of sleepers (like me!). My only complaint is that it is cheaply made and not very durable. Read more
