Good idea - Bad Product,

While most products by Parents are very good, this one simply misses the mark. The markers were defective and the chalk board was impossible to write on. My recommendation is to pass on this product.

I'd give it 5 stars if we can figure out how to clean the white board and chalk board. The kids love it, but after 3 hours play its a mess.

I am not sure why anyone would complain about this product. It is compact, so easy to store with all the art supplies inside and it has a sturdy handle. both my 20 month old and almost 4 year old are getting great use out of this toy. the magnetic shapes alow for the easle to be used without my kids begging to break out the paint. The last thing I need is an easel standing in my kid's room collecting dust. This goes in the closet and when I break it out they are excited. It is a great birthday present

I bought this for my 18 month old daughter for Christmas and we are both completely in love with it. There are a few little quirks, but I don't think it detracts from the toy whatsoever.
I can see where very young kids might have problems getting the lids back on the markers. My daughter can do it about half the time. But frankly, if they're that young, I don't know what would possess you to leave them alone with markers in the first place, washable or not. I would imagine your average 3 year old could manage just fine, toddlers maybe not so much. The dry erase board does not actually "dry" erase. This is the price you pay for washable markers. All you need to do is wipe with a damp paper towel and then give it a once over with a dry paper towel. Clean as a whistle. Someone mentioned that the chalk board is unusable. The first few times you use most any chalkboard (particularly one of toy quality), the chalk doesn't go on smoothly and it doesn't erase cleanly. Scribble on it a few times, erase with the eraser and wipe off with a damp paper towel and you'll be good to go by about the 3rd use. The other thing I simply adore about this product is that there is plenty of storage room for additional arts and craft supplies so you can keep everything in one self contained unit. For what I paid, I couldn't ask for more.

Kids love the chalk board on one side and white board on the other... Two kids can play at once... Items store inside which is excellent and there is room to spare for more chalk and markers... Nice and sturdy with a carrying handle... I bought a few for my Girl Scout troop for activities and for down time when they come in early, etc... Kids love the magnetic shapes... Both boards are magnetic, kids use magnetic letters I bought on this as well... Even my 17 year old plays on it at times... Works good in the car, kids sit it by them or on the floor when not being played with... Just wish they put 2 erasers in this instead of one... Only real downside is that once the kids open it up and push the board into the slot to keep it open they have difficulty unsnapping it and closing it again so I have to do it and it makes a snapping noise as if the tabs are going to break (hasn't yet though) - they should have made some type of release you push in or something... Even if the tabs break it will work fine, the kids would just have to hold the one corner when they draw on it to keep it from closing so it's not the end of the world if that were to happen... But, because of this little snaffu in the design I brought my original 5 stars for the toy down to 4... I'd still buy it again though, may even get more for my troop...

This is a perfect alternative to a large easel. We are tight on space. I like how all the pieces store inside when it is folded up. My 2 1/2 year old son loves to draw. He loves that he can switch from the dry erase board to the chalkboard. It is easy to clean - the dry erase board needs just a damp cloth. I bought a sponge to clean the chalkboard with as well.

I gave this to my daughter for her second birthday and she loves it. My 3 1/2 loves it too. It is great that they can play at the same time while it also teaches them to take turns between the two sides.

This has been a great toy for my Daughter she plays with it daily. I like it because it is compact and easy for her to use. She practices her shapes and is learning to trace them.

My 2 year old son LOVES his little art kit. It travels well, so we take it anytime we visit people who don't have much in the of entertainment for kids. He loves being able to switch between the white board and the black board, and prefers the white board to using paper (which is more economical, anyways). I do have to warn, however, that the lids for the markers were NOT designed with little hands in mind, they are very difficult for him to put back on, and the lids wont snap onto the back of the markers, so you've got to keep track of them. On the upside, the ink washes completely out of clothing.

Yes, it can be messy but it served as a good device to teach her how to clean up after herself! She begs to play with it and it is a great alternative to the traditional easel for those of us with limited space.
