4.0 out of 5 stars Fun,educational
I loved Payday. It's extreamely fun and educational. It's a lot like the game Life in a way. You learn about dealing with proporties and bills. You can vary the rules a bit so the game doesn't get boring. It is a fun game for everyone!

1.0 out of 5 stars Total waste of money.
Parker Brothers decided to update the original version of this game. It isn't even the same game anymore. The new version has the lottery on every Sat., the old version just had it on the 29th., they took off the inheritance from long lost aunt, they added an event card that wasn't in the original version. Plus they ... made the box smaller, so now the game board folds...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Game!, August 8, 1999

Payday is another classic game that you must have at home. If you love monopoly this is a have to buy game! It's alot of fun for the whole family. It's a riot when you have to pay $5,000 dollars for collage tuition! The durability is mild because just like monopoly the cards and the money could get bent and the board can get scratches easily. The educational part of this board game is pretty good concidering you have to know how to use math. If you don't have this game than order it now on Amazon, where you can get the best prices! Thank you for your time!

4.0 out of 5 stars "A very educational game...", December 4, 2000

When I first recieved this game I thought that it was very fun and educational. It could teach you about what it's like to be a parent by having to pay a lot of bills off. It also teaches you if it's smart to buy something or not. A lottery is involved in this game to show you your fate of taking a risk. This game is fun for the whole family with hours and hours of learning fun. It's a great gift for the holidays or someones birthday. It is also very cheap and probrably the best place to buy it would be Amazon.com

Payday is the best game i have ever played and i think anyone between the age of 8 and 14 would really love it too. It teaches you a lot about money, paying bills and making deals using money (which teaches you probability). If you liked 'Monopoly' or 'The Game of Life' you will also love Payday!

This game is very fun. I love playing it with my mom. It teaches you about paying bills and being in debt. If you have the most money at the end of the month, with all of your debt paid, you win.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic game retouched, August 7, 2003

I had a version of this game when I was a kid. It's lots of fun, and is both simple enough for kids to understand, and entertaining enough for adults. It is a great family game that won't bore parents. However, the new version has wavey spaces that don't suit the eyes as well as the old, simple, 90-degree angled layout.

My friends and I rediscovered this classic board game at a gathering recently: Never has there been such laughter at a simple game, this even beats out monopoly!!

I love playing this game with my 9 year old sister and my Dad. We have had some great Payday games. We like the auctions. It is scary to spend money you do not have. I usually let someone else buy the auctions if I do not have the cash. It is cool when the item you win has a big value and you later get the money. The game teaches you about spending and saving money. The reality of the bills and debts you obtain create a sense of reality. Have a ball playing Payday.

We bought this game when our children were only eight and five years old and we all had a ball. They learned very quickly that payday never comes around fast enough and that bills can very easily get out of hand. They are now both college students and still talk about how much fun we had. The game was subsequently passed on to another family and if I could locate a computerised version I'd buy it too.
