Radio Flyer Pedal Car, July 5, 2001
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars

There should be more of these pedal cars around. Whenever my four year old son takes this out, adults, and of course more importantly for my sons sake, fellow kids, think this thing is really cool. I wanted a pedal car for my son instead of one of those electric jeep type things you see kids use. I wanted him to use HIS energy. So I did some research and looked at the various models avaliable. Not only does this car cost far less than most of them, it comes with real inflated tires, not those cheaper solid plastic types. Also, it has a free-wheel function, which means on a hill, he can disengage the pedals and simply use them as foot-rests. It is very sturdy, except where you attach the seat to the frame. The supplied screws heads are too small and if you over tighten them, they can pop through the seat, so use a washer.

This is the best one!, August 16, 2001

Just watching my 3 1/2 year-old son on this thing brings back all kinds of memories from my own childhood, not just because this toy is about the coolest thing on earth but because its quality and durability speak volumes of a bygone era, one in which things were not just made, but made to last. Radio Flyer blows away the competition, in my opinion, with this one. The real inflatable tires make a world of difference, coupled to a sturdily built steel frame they impart a sense of real solidity that just can't be had in today's world of molded plastic imitations. This is not just a toy to be purchased only to be tossed tomorrow; with reasonable care I have every expectation that my son's son will also be able to enjoy to the fullest this fine Radio Flyer, much as I also loved the "little red wagon" which my own father used in his youth.
