I also love that its level so you can put things in the sink without pushing a drain stopper down.

This strainer is perfect because it fits the kitchen sink drain to a "T"; it doesn't slide around. I've had it for about 3 years now and it looks nearly like new. It will never rust and there's no coating or paint to wear or chip off since it's stainless steel. Also, it's fairly heavy duty so I don't think that under normal use it will ever dent, either. It's easy to clean (just like any dish) and food doesn't get caught in it and stuck like it does in those screen type strainers. It's perfect!

I've bought and tried numerous strainers for my kitchen drains, and this is the best. As long as it's the stainless steel one, you can use it for years. I've even bought them for friends, and they like them too.

I never thought I would get so excited about a drain cover. It's shape is perfet because it fits over the drain in my kitchen sink and says in place, preventing food from slipping down the drain like it does with the traditional cup-shaped ones. Also, because it is mostly flat, I don't have to dig out bits of food, I just flip it over and tap any gross stuff into the trash. I previously bought a white drain cover like this, but it wasn't stainless steel, so after a few months it got all rusty and was staining the sink. This strainer doesn't have that problem. I don't know why more hardware stores don't sell these because they're a much better design than the types they all carry.

The item was listed as made by Progressive International. It was made by ACEA and it does not fit in a standard size sink drain(a bit small). The Progressive might be very good, but this one is not.

I bought two of these because I previously had a white Progressive International strainer which fit my sink opening perfectly without moving around. When these arrived they were made by a different company called ACEA and are notably inferior to Progressive's product. They are not smooth edged and they swim around the sink opening so that I expect food will slip past easily, making them completely useless for the purpose of straining water while holding back food scraps. What a disappointment. The real Progressive strainers in Stainless are hard to find, and I wish I could get my hands on one, but these junky ones are going back.

I wish now I'd gotten two of these when I ordered. I couldn't believe the rave reviews about this product, so I decided (at the price) I'd better try one first. Now I'm a fan! I couldn't believe that this would actually adhere to the drain, but it does. The little lip fits the little crack around the drain perfectly. I've got rather unsatisfactory little thimble-type basket strainers in both sides of my double sink, and I just had to do something different. I can keep those little baskets in place and use this strainer on the "washing" side of the sink with the most debris. But next time I'm trying to hit $25 for super-saver shipping, I'm going to get another one. It can double as a strainer insert in my stainless steel canning funnel, too, which I can line with a coffee filter and make yogurt cheese with; before, the filter would fall through the hole of the funnel if I didn't put a rubber band around it. The little recessed area really does enhance the drainage! Very cool product.
