5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful testimony of one man's dedication to his children, April 13, 2007
This review is from: Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping (Paperback)
Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping is the true-life memoir of father's rights advocate Glen C. Shulz, whose acrimonious divorce culminated in a false accusation of sexually abusing his two children. Stripped of his visitation rights without so much as a hearing, and desperate to be with his children despite a legal system heavily biased against him, he fled with both children to Houston, Texas. On the run from the FBI and the police, he and his children assumed false identities and received help from friends, family, and teachers, who hid the children when Glen was arrested and when their mother tried to steal them back. Eventually, after multiple arrests, Glen succeeded in denying overwhelming odds and earning full custody of his children. A heart-wrenching story of family strife, yet also of love and ultimately of reconciliation. A final afterword from Glen's daughter rounds out the compelling tale: "There has never been a day in my whole life when I regretted what my father has done... I did eventually forge a relationship with my mother; I got to know her for eight years before her untimely death. In the end there were no harsh words spoken, just a family that had finally come full circle." A powerful testimony of one man's dedication to his children, and the trying family times that tested and tempered his faith in God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Page Turner!!!, February 23, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping (Paperback)
I had the honor and privilege of reading this book before it was published and I can honestly say it is without a doubt a page turner. I could not put it down. I laughed and cried and felt the pain, through the author's descriptive words, what all of them had to go through. This man is the most amazing person I ever met. His children have great lives and future, because of what he did and was willing to give up. This is one selfless man. Please read the book and you'll know what I mean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unlawful Flight By Glen Schulz, December 10, 2007

This review is from: Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping (Paperback)
It is a father's responsibility to support and protect his children. It is the most human thing any man does. It chills my soul to hear about dads who are in no way a part of their children's lives; but it warmed my heart to read through the pages of this book and learn of a man who was willing to sacrifice everything for the love of his son and daughter.

The story was recommended to me by my brother Kevin and his wife Chris. Kevin was mentioned many times in the story. I never knew he and Chris were ever involved in helping to protect this family. I am proud that they, along with the many others mentioned in the story did what their heart told them was the right thing to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an amazing story!!, October 2, 2007
This review is from: Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping (Paperback)
What an amazing story of true courage, inner-strength, love and devotion that one man had for his two small children. Glen Schulz proves that having love and faith in God, can help one get through the most trying circumstances and many of life's seemingly impossible voyages. This story also proves that we attract like-minded people to us, that can and will assist us with our journey down life's path. When we truly have a loving spirit within us, God's guiding light will lead the way to victory!

5.0 out of 5 stars unlawful flight, September 25, 2007
This review is from: Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping (Paperback)
this book was a can not put down book. My husband being best friends with Glenn growing up took a little longer to read it because he kept having memories flood back. But me not knowing any of the story I could not put it down you just kept wanting to go on to see what was going to happen next. I cried, was angry at times but it was definitely a attention grabber. Can't wait to see the movie. Lots of love to Glen

As others have stated, I couldn't put the book down! I even gave a copy to my sister to read. It's amazing what Glenn went through to ensure his children had the best life possible. I don't know what else to say...this book leaves me with only positive emotions, something words cannot describe.

I couldn't put the book down even with the tears wetting my face. I was emotionally exhausted after reading Glen's book. It's a very powerful story especially knowing the faces involved. I applaud Glen for his courage in telling his story for it must of been difficult to relive.Glen knowingly broke the law, but did it out of respect and love for his children. Glen put his children first, something rarely done in custody battles even back then. Glen, Brian, and Missy became part of our family in Houston, and like his own we stood beside him through his difficult experience. We lost touch with Glen and the kids after our move back east. While my parents were visiting in Texas they were planning to try and locate Glen. Now, if I were trying to locate someone I would use the white pages the internet service offers. My neice Amber keyed Glen's full name in the search box and up pops an author with a similar story. My mother called with that information and with a little research we found our family again. Glen thanks for telling your story.

5.0 out of 5 stars So meaningful, February 23, 2007
This review is from: Unlawful Flight: A Parental Kidnapping (Paperback)
This book really opened my eyes to the fact that this happens everyday somewhere in America. It was such a good book & I was so touched by the things this family had to go through. I have bought several to give as gifts to friends that are going through their own custody ordeals.
