2-1/2 stars -- Sheesh...,

Bow Wow has been around for a couple of years now, and during that time he tried to be acceptable to fans of all ages. It may have been hard to do so with his first two albums, but now that he's older, he looks and sounds more mature (doesn't he kind of look like 50 Cent on the back cover?), and people can be more open to give him a chance. But I don't know if he deserves one after hearing Unleashed.Sure, the album has its moments like "Let's Get Down", but...actually, let me rephrase that: the album has its MOMENT like "Let's Get Down". Nothing else on this album really stands out. "Get It Poppin'" suffers from a weak chorus, and "Follow Me" is a lame instructional tale on how to get rich and famous like he is. And the Neptunes-produced "The Don, The Dutch" sounds like it was made in 1989. But the real problem here is...well, there are actually two real problems. One is that Bow Wow sounds different on every track, and the other problem is that most of these songs don't make sense, especially "I Got Y'all" and the 2Pac-esque "The Movement". And if you think he sounded cheesy when he said "When I turn 16 I'll call her though" (from "Bounce Wit Me"), "Eighteen" is the whole BLOCK of cheese. The last two tracks (the obligatory ode to his mother and "I'm Back", a bonus track) don't do anything for this album either. Maybe Bow Wow should unleash some better material for his next album. (By the way, has anyone else noticed that Jermaine Dupri had absolutely nothing to do with this album?) Anthony Rupert
