The first time you listen this album seems to rip off everything from the hair metal era, because it basically is. After a few listens though, the songs are pretty decent. "In yer face", "dont wanna cry no more", "peasure and pain" have that hair metal swaggger and are memorable after the album ends. out. It falls down when they rip off the bad elements of the 80, like the crappy ballad "Forever" the cowboy ballad "Ride Cowboy" and the sleazy "Take me" that goes on far too long. Good 80's vibe album if you can find it for a low price. Check out their video on you tube also.

infamous l.a. band that packed the local clubs back in the days. unfortunatly the bands debut and only cd came out in a bad age for rn'r! this cd is a great document from that era, an great party cd that every lover of glam rock should own!

Bluesy, balls to the wall raunchy glam rock. This CD has 10 rocking tracks that are all catchy, and if this would have been released in the late 80's this group would've blown the f up. Bad timing kept this band from reaching it's full potential, but if you like hard rock I can guarantee that you will be extremely pleased with this group. Every song is as good as the last, and they also put on a great show (I saw them in 92). This is a hard to find cd but if you have the chance to get it, take it.

I searched for this cd for twenty years and finally found it here. Coming back to find this and another review that bad mouth it were very disappointing to me to find here. These reviews were written by obvious people who in my opinion know nothing about the history of the band. Since I grew up with these guys in person I know that none of this is a rip off of the hair metal era. Most of the songs were written in the early 80's and preformed threw out the 80's before they finally got signed. I went to every concert from 1988 - 1990 and they were on the sky rocket for the top for their time. The only thing these reviews are right about is that the timing was all wrong. I had the album on tape when first released and someone wanted it so bad they paid me $40 for it in 1991 and like a fool I sold it never to find it again for twenty years. The cd has nothing on these guys comparing to seeing them live which they were ten times better live. In my opinion they could have blown even Bon Jovi out of the water had they been signed just a couple years earlier. For those thinking about buying the cd and love that era I will tell you that it is well worth the money. To those who knew or had the privileged of seeing at least one live show, ROCK ON!!! This will bring back all those good memories.

Wild Boyz were the personification of a hair metal band. These guys had the look, the songs, and the attitude to make some serious headway in the hair metal world. Sadly their debut record was released in 1991, not 1986. If Unleashed would have been released several years prior, I have no doubt these guys have been a little more well known."Unleashed" is a pretty straightforward hard rock record. It is much in the vein of Poison or Pretty Boy Floyd. "Pleazure N' Pain", "Cowboy Ride", "I don't Wanna Cry No More", and "Forever" are all standout tracks. The rest of the album isn't awful either you just have to overlook some less than top-notch song writing. Wild Boyz may not have been the most original band of their time, but they sure put out a good rock 'n' roll record in my opinion. The album is chalked full of catchy songs and i'm sure if you like 80's rock music like I do, you'll have no problem enjoying this. One minor note: The only problem with this record is, it's damn near impossible to find. That is unless you want to take out a loan, or knock over a Mini Mart. It really sucks, I been trying to buy it for years, but i'm not willing to pay 50 dollars for it. |
