5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious !, October 5, 1999
By A Customer
Logan Walker, a private investigator, needs a break. So he's heading from Denver to Sweetwater Springs in West Texas on his trusty harley, with plans to enjoy his class reunion and kick back with some old friends. Paige Davenport has finally reached the breaking point with the responsibilities that go along with her wealth and her Family name. Catching her fiancé with her bridesmaid gives her the rest, so she's running away from home. With the help of a good friend, she is leaving Denver behind, heading to Houston for a job interview. A few miles from Texline, Texas (the middle of Nowhere), Paige's borrowed car breaks down. Two bad guys stop. Their idea of help is a little communal sex and helping themselves to her belongings. They're about to accomplish the first of their goals when our hero comes riding by and spots the woman, stranded, trying to deal with two unsavory characters. So how could he leave the sexy, sassy redhead alone on the side of the road? He can't ! She was obviously in trouble...and soon, so was he. But he doesn't know what he's getting into, because from the minute he rescues Paige Davenport, she's nothing but gorgeous, tempting trouble. A little later Paige discovers that the two bad guys have stolen all her money and credit cards. Plus, she can't even locate her good friend. And there's no way that Paige wants to contact her family. Logan offers to let her stay with him in his house in Sweetwater Springs until her best friend can be reached. With no viable options, Paige accepts. After a short while, all Logan could think of was keeping her in his bed indefinitely... This was my first book of Sandy Steen and I loved every page of it. This is a modern love story, not corny at all and real fun to read. It's hilarious to watch them fall in love with each other and what make this story extra special was the writing, the insight into the characters. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars a very likely romance..., March 15, 2000
By A Customer
This was a very believable story. Paige and Logan expressed true-to-life feelings concerning whatever they were doing. This was like watching real-TV without the scripts! Paige is smart and beautiful...Logan is sexy and down-to-earth. This isn't a wham-bam romance, but instead is a story about two people who are sexually attracted to one another and decide to hold-off until each one realizes that they are in love. Then the sparks fly! I have to admit that I usually like the "can't wait to tear your clothes off" romances, but this one showed me that I should appreciate my husband. Thank you, Ms. Steen!
