5.0 out of 5 stars The Speaker Rocks
I rate the speaker a 5 because it's better than most wireless out there. I bought this speaker with no reviews but the other audio unlimited 2 speaker with remote rated high with same transmitter and components except it looks like a rock which is kinda cool. I wanted one speaker not two.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good sound, VERY inconvenient.
I bought two of these speakers for the area around my pool, thinking "Oh Boy! No more carrying a boom box out!" They are driven by a radio that is on my deck...a perfect setup, I thought.

The sound is ok (for a wireless rock, I guess).

But, the user manual states in the specs that they are auto on/off, and in another place in the manual it...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Speaker Rocks, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Audio Unlimited 900MHz Wireless Rock Speaker System (SPK-ROCK) (Electronics)
I rate the speaker a 5 because it's better than most wireless out there. I bought this speaker with no reviews but the other audio unlimited 2 speaker with remote rated high with same transmitter and components except it looks like a rock which is kinda cool. I wanted one speaker not two.
1. this speaker has great bass and sound sounds like a big boombox
2. it does transmit to 150 feet
3. I plugged this in on a shelf in a closet where a stereo is located in a furnace room. The signal had to go threw the furnace threw the wall down a hall threw another wall and another 100 feet where I sat it on a table and it worked. This was done in a rental hall and then and only then did it have an occasional quick static but still was good. All through my house threw 3 floors whatever its flawless. I sat it in my basement and i could feel the bass thumping from upstairs.
4. I've done research a lot of these speakers rate low and they don't last and they aren't real strong this baby actually pumps out 100 watts look at their website for specs. I made the right choice it works as advertized.

I bought two of these speakers for the area around my pool, thinking "Oh Boy! No more carrying a boom box out!" They are driven by a radio that is on my deck...a perfect setup, I thought.

The sound is ok (for a wireless rock, I guess).

But, the user manual states in the specs that they are auto on/off, and in another place in the manual it states that they will turn off after four minutes of getting no signal in order to conserve power, but it also states that they will turn on again when they get a signal again. So both spots in the manual agree that they are AUTO ON/OFF.

They do turn off automatically, but they do NOT turn back on automatically. Even if they are plugged into AC power 24/7, which mine are.

So, every time I want to listen to music I must turn on the radio on the deck, and then go down to EACH rock speaker individually and turn it on, and then go back and forth between the various rocks until I think the balance is correct. (They don't retain your last volume setting, so I have to turn them on and then adjust the volumes again among the various rocks that I have).

If you only wanted to use these on special occasions and kept them in a closet charging the rest of the time, then turning them on manually is no big deal as you would have to visit each rock speaker as you carried it to its location anyway. But for someone who wants to leave them out most of the time (as I do), then they are not useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best wireless speaker I have found thus far, June 2, 2008

I have tried several wireless speakers, and these are the best I have experienced. The sound is great for wireless, but keep your expectations realistic. You will not have the same audio quality as you do with "regular" wired speakers. Also, if you buy two or four or whatever (I have two), realize that they are NOT stereo, but I still think they sound fine. They are heavy, seem to be well made, and have decent bass sounds (again, for wireless). I use them to enhance my stereo in the back patio (where I have wired stereo speakers also) or the sound system in my house, depending on what I have going on at the time.

The first set I bought I had to return because the transmitter stopped working after one day; but with the second set, so far so good. Keep in mind that purchasing from Buy.com only allows an exchange of the product, not a return, so if you buy from them you will keep them one way or the other. I only say that so you will weigh this in your overall purchasing decision. Amazon, for example, has in my experience been very accommodating in this area from a customer satisfaction perspective.

I like the fact that they come with rechargeable batteries built in, so you can move them most anywhere. I have also found their range to be excellent, even through the walls of my two story house (with a concrete second floor). Other wireless speakers I have tried did not sound as good, although they were in stereo, and did not last very long. Hopefully these will; I have owned them about a month as of this review. If things change I will update the review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but a little pricey, July 25, 2008
This review is from: Audio Unlimited 900MHz Wireless Rock Speaker System (SPK-ROCK) (Electronics)
This is a great product! The sound can be controlled both from the rock itself and the base transmitter (in my case a standard radio). I've used it with the rock about 30ft from the base and the sound is crystal clear. The fully charged battery lasts about 10 hours before it needed the power to be plugged back in. Overall, it's a great product, but it was one of the more expensive ones I've seen.

I purchased these speakers for my patio and really not expecting too much from them. These speakers sound really good and would definately reccomend them to anyone. I really dont have them very far from the receiver so I'm not really sure how far the signal will go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied, February 23, 2009

This review is from: Audio Unlimited 900MHz Wireless Rock Speaker System (SPK-ROCK) (Electronics)
I bought this rock speaker based on other reviews. I had to send the first one back because it broke when installing it the first time. Things got better with the second one. Amazon made a quick exchange and I was back in business. The reviewers did not lie. Speaker has crisp, clear reception even when not in clear view of transmitter. Sound is about what I expected for a single speaker. Not great, but more than adequate for what we need it for which is piped in stereo sound on our deck. As long as you don't expect bose type sound, you should be satisfied.

Very nice yard speaker, it support the speakers in the enclosed patio speaker system and works as a added center speaker in the back of the yard. If you need nice background sound for your yard, buy this unit!!!

this speaker works well. the sound quality is not the best, but it is ok for a single wireless speaker. i would consider buying a second speaker in an attempt to improve sound quality.

After reading the previous reviews, I was ready for anything. How surprised I was at the great sound quality, especially the bass. The speaker is about 35ft from the transmitter. Setup was easy. Recevied it UPS in two days. I just ordered an "add-on" speaker. The only question mark will be durability since it's outside. But only time will tell.

I did about a year of research before I purchased this product & it has lived up to its claims. Great sound. Ease of use. Seamless install. AND, it blends perfectly in my backyard next to the pool. Can't see it but you can hear it. My kids have splashed it several times and it still keeps on rockin. The only issue was the signal beam. It seems more of a line of sight beam than a broad beam. I simply adjusted the transmitter and the rocks and they worked great. Had it a year now and no complaints. Purchased the `Add-On' with it and they work perfect together. In conclusion, I love it and I should recommend it to anyone.
