Book Description

June 2000
Unlimited Doubles!! is THE GUIDE for self-directed doubles tennis players who want to gain control of their game. Whether you're a 3.0 on the move to 3.5, a 4.5 headed for 5.0 or just starting, Unlimited Doubles!! is guaranteed to be the best book on doubles' strategy! Steve Tourdo's revolutionary "Point Control System" empowers players by teaching them how to gain control of the action on-court. This "system" enables layers to build a high-level doubles game. The lessons begin simply and then build in sophistication. Each lesson spells out a well-defined objective and is followed by easy-to-understand instructions of how to reach that objective. All lessons end with summaries and on-court drills to help you integrate what you've learned into your own game.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"...Steve Tourdo has thoroughly covered all the essential elements of successful doubles strategy..." -- Vic Seixas

...a “must read” for the serious tennis player who is looking for a quick, easy-to-remember, reference for improvement of doubles play.” -- Dick Gould- Stanford Men's Tennis Coach

From the Author

As a teacher, I often find there's a difference between what a student wants and what they need. What a student wants is to be able to hold serve, break serve, handle lobbers and do some poaching. What they need (to get what they want) is a solid understanding of how fundamentals affect the tactical flow of points. In Unlimited Doubles!!, you'll get both what you want and what you need. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Compared to Talbert and Olds..., December 5, 2000
By
This review is from: Unlimited Doubles!! (Paperback)
I purchased Unlimited Doubles!! and have read it three times -- some sections more.

It is EXCELLENT and is on the shelf right next to the old, old "The Game of Doubles in Tennis" by Talbert and Olds. It's publication date of 1956 will give you some idea of how long I have been a doubles fan and player.

I am a USPTR instructor (pro rating) and conduct clinics with adults at various levels. I have recommended Unlimited Doubles!! to each of my classes even though their shot making ability needs improvement.

Thanks for the worthwhile contribution to the doubles game.

5.0 out of 5 stars The "WHY" of tennis tactics, July 24, 2000
By
James A. Craig (Tiburon, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unlimited Doubles!! (Paperback)
Unlimited Doubles! is the first book I've ever read that clearly explains "the why" of what my pro has been talking about. Unlike most tennis books that emphasize HOW to hit the ball, this book is primarily about WHERE to be on the court and WHERE to aim the ball. Finally, I understand why some things work and others don't. ...Well worth the money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, July 8, 2000
By
R. Bowman (St. Petersburg, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unlimited Doubles!! (Paperback)
I've read just about every book on tennis currently available and found Unlimited Doubles!! to shame them all. It's about time someone gave the reader some meat. Most books are full of random tips and fluff and I always left wondering what to do with the information. After reading this book, it all makes perfect sense. I wish there was a rating higher than 5 stars!
