This book seems to be one of those treasures no one's ever heard of - which is too bad because it is essentially a masterpiece that should be in everyone's library. If only Oprah would read it, I'm certain she would be blown away and have Bobbie on her program straight away. Why? Because it's not just a bunch of ideas about manifestation - it is a complete process the author has lived through - as she explains step by step in the most entertaining and complete way I've ever come across. No BS, this is the real deal.
The author clearly explains her entire amazing manesfestation process, how she discovered it, how it worked for her (in miraculous ways), how it has worked for others - and how it can work for you. Now the thing is, and this seems to be the crucial step that is missing from all those Law of Attraction books, the process includes a daily stretching routine (they are actually movements to stimulate endocrine glands) followed by meditation in order to reduce stress to the central nervous system - not unlike Qigong in some respects. By doing this, you effectively open a bridge to your intuition and manisfestation abilities. Honestly, I've read probably hundreds of books on metaphysics and the like over the past 20 years and I would place this book in the top 5 without hesitation. It is not esoteric at all, it is extremely practical - and thorough. And it's a great read - her story is nothing short of fascinating. I just hope someone stumbles upon this review and decides to purchase the book - because they will be so happy the did.

finally! It's about time someone tells us how to get from point A to point B instead of just saying we can get there! This book is for anyone who realizes that we have more control over our dreams than we think and wants to create thier own dreams.

20 + Years Ago,

Twenty plus years ago I moved back to Minneapolis after living there for 16 years. Two of my friends were prospering in every area of their lives compared to most of my other friends that were stuck where they were when I left many years before. These two did not know each other, but when I asked how they had accomplished so much since I had left, I found the same answer coming from both - they had gone through the Executive Futures program (now Unlimited Futures). They urged me to call Bobbie Stevens and her husband Dean Portinga and meet with them. Of course I was suspicious, but called them and set up an appointment to meet. With no intention of signing up for anything (I didn't have any money), I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at a beautiful house in the woods, rang the doorbell, and when the door opened be warmly greeted by Dean, a trim, towering man with a smile the width of his face and wearing what I would later come to realize was his daily wardrobe - a sweat suit. Behind him was a huge live tree in the middle of the house. Meeting Bobbie was no different, other than her being about a foot and a half shorter than Dean. She's not short, Dean's just really tall. They talked a little about the program (actually, they wanted to talk more about me). I finally worked up the courage to tell them I didn't have any money to take their course. Dean just laughed and said "sounds like all the more reason to get started. The money part will take care of itself". It did. Now there's a book. I cherish my signed copy. I can only say that, knowing Bobbie and Dean for all these years, this book was not written to make them rich, but out of a decades old desire to help people become all that they can become. There are thousands just like me located in every corner of the world. Many whose names you would recognize. Unfortunately, Bobbie and Dean are a bigger secret than the book and DVD, "The Secret". I didn't need to read it or watch it. From what I've read and heard, it's a small part of the real secret - Bobbie Stevens and Dean Portinga.

This book contains instructions for achieving success. It starts with a first person account in which the author describes a personal transformation that resulted in a state of peace, success and enhanced intuition and performance. She attributes this in large part to a routine of daily stretches, breathing exercises and meditation which she presents as her personal discovery. The entire instruction in the book consists of this daily routine, as well as a chapter on focusing on what you want, using visualization, etc.I found the author's personal account to be disingenuous at best. The stretches, breathing exercises and the meditation instruction given in the book are almost word for word lifted from Transcendental Meditation (TM) materials and instructions available to anyone who took their 4 day course. In fact, much of the language used in the book is identical that used by the TM teaching organizations in the 1960s and 1970s. The transformation the author described is also typical of those practicing TM even for a short period of time - more energy, joy, support of nature, intuition, and peace. In fact, on page 144 the author states that she used TM `for many years and found it very valuable'. I find it hard to believe she was involved in the TM practice without having heard similar experiences from many many others. But she doesn't disclose that. Instead she attributes her success to her unique discovery, and states she doesn't know of anyone else with similar experiences. Here are her own words, from page 16: `It took several years, but I finally realized what had happened for me. The routine of things I had put together, and was practicing on a daily basis, had strengthened my nervous system so it was capable of a higher level of functioning. It was clear to me that this is our natural state, but a state I had never experienced before, nor did I know anyone else who had.' Even the reference to the `strengthening my nervous system' and referring to a higher level of functioning as our `natural state' are straight out of the TM teaching and literature of the time. I find it hard to believe that all this was `things I had put together' or that she didn't 'know anyone else who had' since she stated she had taken the TM teaching and practiced it for many years. I realize that many self-help gurus repackage what they've learned from others, but I have never seen a whole program lifted so completely without attribution. If TM could be taught in a book, and if the author had accurately conveyed the instructions, at least Stevens' readers would get what she received. Unfortunately, TM must be learned in person from a qualified, certified instructor. The instructions given in this book are both partial and distorted enough to make them less effective than the original. It's analogous to teaching a person to drive without putting gas in the car or showing them how to turn on the ignition. IMHO this is a real disservice to her readers and clients. Given the questionable truthfulness in the author's personal account, her claims that many thousands have achieved greater success and peace through her program must be taken with a huge grain of salt.
