The basic problem is it's too low volume. The slim manual gives a couple tips--like turning up the source volume--so clearly they know there's an issue, but nothing really helps. If you want something small and easy to carry around in a pretty quiet environment, this is dandy. However, in the shower, with a not-particularly-loud vent fan on, it is unusable. Given that it is sold for the shower, that really sucks!

I emailed their tech support on their website weeks ago to see if there were more tips I could try--no reply. That's the real final straw.

These speakers are great. I use them in the shower to listen to my iPod.
It would be nice if they were a little louder.
If you really want to use them wireless, which I do, the speakers go through batteries really quick.
I would recommend investing in some rechargeable batteries.

We bought this for our son who likes to listen to music in the shower. We were tired of him leaving his portable speakers on the cabinet. This was great because it hangs right in the shower and the volume is plenty loud when it is pointed right at you.

We bought rechargeable batteries for it to save on battery costs. My only comment to be aware of is that it uses 6 batteries. That is an odd number and our charger only holds 4 at a time. The transmitter does a great job of transmitting from his room to the shower, so we just plug his transmitter into his laptop and he can then listen to his Apple iTunes while showering.

This speaker is great. I bought it for both the shower and to use while in the hottub. It clearly states on the box that it is water resistant and not waterproof. This suits my needs perfectly. When in the shower I set it on the sink and in the hottub I hang it next to tub. The sound quality is good and it is certainly loud enough to hear in the shower and in the hottub with the jets going. I like the handle design made for hanging in your shower but because it is good for carrying the speaker to and from your locations.

The speaker stopped working after 4 months. No warranty. No response from company. Way too expensive for only a 4 month life.

They have cheaper items that are similar but am happy I got this one for my boyfriend.He LOVES it!

1. PROS: Works great, clear reception, best sound for a shower radio i've owned
2. CONS: The Blue Light on front of cradle (reception indicator) is bright and blinks when the speakers aren't on, annoying at night if near bedroom---I covered with black nail polish to dampen. Also, I connect an iPod, and there's no way to neatly connect power as the location of the blue light is just below the power port on the iPod.
3. 5 STAR REQUIREMENTS: Move the blue light to the back of unit and dampen, then adjust the cradle to allow a power cable to connect.

I wanted to listen to audiobooks in the shower. This speaker meets both of my requirements: (1)loud enough to hear over the noise of the running water, and (2) water resistant. It is so loud that my tenants, whose bedroom shares a wall with my bath, complained. It has another benefit I hadn't expected. When I am moving from room to room and listening with my bluetooth headset, I have to carry my smart phone with me. But I can take this speaker anywhere in the house and still hear the audiobook. (I hook the handle through a belt loop if I need a free hand. Looks funny but works great.) If you're an audiophile looking for high fidelity sound, this is not your speaker, but that's probably true of any wireless speaker.

This product was exactly what I wanted! I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas because he is always listening to music on his iphone in the shower, but the volume on his phone is not loud enough especially with the shower water running. This showerpod/speaker system is great because the volume is loud and clear! He says it's like having a club in the shower. He is very happy with it! So far the batteries have not died, but the receiver DOES need about 6 AA batteries. The BASS button, is not much of a bass...but since the speaker is loud enough, its ok. The speaker hangs from his shower head, and the console is in his room (about 5-6 feet from the speaker), and the reception is great! You can even play voice recordings from your iphone, to play on the speaker, for whoever is in the shower.

This unit is a lot nicer (I think) than the ones that hang in your shower. It sounds pretty good and is a great gift for a teen.
