4.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational but not psychology
This book is intended to be an inspirational presentation by an athletic coach or trainer, not a psychology book. So the reader needs to be a little forgiving at times about assertions with no citations for claims. I actually found the book useful, and I am sure the author can motivate an athlete or team.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written
I've read only the first twenty pages of this book, and it's difficult to continue because the grammar, spelling, and punctuation are so bad it's hard to understand what the author is trying to say. Granted, he's British and I'm American, and there are always differences in our respective spellings and uses of the English language. I'm fine with those differences. I've...

I've read other British-authored material, and done quite well with it, but the errors I'm talking about are just plain comma splices, stray quotation marks, unnecessary capital letters, sentence fragments, missing apostrophes, etc. I'll probably stay with it, because I'm quite interested in the subject, and I expect he will present some information I can learn. I am a writer, too, and it pains me to try to read this book. Unfortunately this book, self-published through iUniverse, is a great example of books that give self-publishing a bad reputation. An editor could have made this into something enjoyable to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Football Skills Unlimited!!!,, August 19, 2003
This review is from: Unlimited Sports Success: The Power of Hypnosis (Paperback)
Unlimited Sports Success does not claim to make an amateur into a professional, there are too many other variants in the world, but it does explain a great deal about what goes on in the mind of the athlete. Aspects that we can all use. I find myself constantly returning to this book as my life progresses and other tips become relevant, I often find myself remembering something Stephen wrote thus return to the book for some advice.

I have lent this book out on so many occasions in the past, but now am keen to keep it in my own hands as it is often tough to get it back. The reason the book is so sought after from my friends is that it deals with so many different sports. My father [borrowed] it for his Golfing advice, my cousin wanted to increase his Martial Arts internal energy (whatever that means!) my Sister wants to lose weight (whilst continuing to stuff her face!) and I need it for my Football skills.
If you choose to buy this book - take my advice write your name in the front cover!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind Body Integration - well worth the Investment!, November 4, 2001
This review is from: Unlimited Sports Success: The Power of Hypnosis (Paperback)
'Unlimited Sports Success' is not only a book about hypnosis in sport but covers many aspects of psychology and life generally. Steve attacks the notion that mind and body are separate entities and reveals how each one of us can develop our performances by directing specific goals for our bodies to achieve.

You are led in stages through the book so gradually you become aware of why and how hypnosis and mind and body work so well together. The second part of the book concentrates on specific scripts for personal use. In the past I have read books which tell you what to do but not how to put them into positive action. This book gives you many examples of real life scripts and case studies for various sports and Body Enhancements.
