4.0 out of 5 stars Not sure if they're leather, but very comfortable to me anyway
Some have mentioned that these shoes are not leather, and I'm not certain whether they are or aren't. The label inside states that the uppers are leather, so perhaps they are.

I rated these 4 stars and that's only in light of the fact that you're getting dress shoes for under $30. At that price point, they're actually a good value. If you think you're...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not leather, light and flimsy feel
These may look like a nice pair of black leather shoes at a great price, but they are all synthetic, cheap feeling, and pretty uncomfortable. I won't make the mistake of buying shoes online without first seeing them in the store for myself.

If you think you're getting Ferragamo's at that price, you'll be disappointed. However, if you're looking for a pair of servicable and cheap shoes that are reasonable looking, they're fine.

For my feet, I actually find the shoe to be quite comfortable. They're very lightweight and remind me a bit of a pair of far more expensive Ecco's that I own. I work downtown and walk a lot and these shoes have been easy on my feet, so far. I had the shoeshine fellow put a couple of coats of polish on them and that helped a lot.

For the money, these are good shoes, in my view. Just make sure that your expectations are not overblown. After all, we are talking about a very inexpensive pair of shoes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not full leather, synthetic linings, November 9, 2007

These shoes are not made of full leather. The upper is leather but the inner linings are definitely synthetic. This tends to make your feet sweat, even in an air-conditioned work environment. I do not recommend this shoe if you have to do lots of walking. I suspect durability will also be affected (synthetic linings might crack) based on past experience with other brands with a similar form of lining.
The shoes give the appearance of being rather large when worn but width sizing is appropriate (not narrow) which means a comfortable fit. Tongue area is a little stiff though.
Can't complain based on the price but as with other reviewers, I don't expect this shoe to last long. Will not purchase again as I do not like the stiff synthetic interior. Will pay more for a better pair.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed in this product, October 19, 2007

These shoes appear to be some form of plastic or "pleather." They are not comfortable and rubbed a blister on my little toe and turned my socks black the first day I wore them. Overall, they appear cheap. I'm surprised Kenneth Cole lent its name to this product. Anyway, I'm returning mine because they're garbage.

3.0 out of 5 stars Funky but functional, October 13, 2007

These are decent, simple black sorta-dress shoes. The construction is more average than you would expect from Kenneth Cole, but for the price the shoes seems reasonably well made.

A few caveats: these shoes are cut a little on the wider side, so if you have a slightly-less than medium width foot, order the narrow. Also, the heel is a little thicker than it seems and the toe is more square than the photo lets on.

But overall, a pretty pleasing shoe for being the first time I've bought shoes without having tried them on first!

Got these for $30 sight unseen from amazon October 2007. They looked decent in the picture but not so good in reality. They are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. It looks and feels feels cheap. They fit very small and are very narrow. Unless you have really narrow feet they will hurt. They claim that the upper portion is leather but I've never seen leather look or feel so cheap before. I believe this is some kind of synthetic man made leather. I'm too lazy to send these back to amazon so I boxed it up and took it to salvation army. They should change the name from Unlisted to Unwanted!! Totally crappy shoes.

I bought these shoes for $35 bucks and they are high quality leather shoes, with double insoles, for a price that would not break the bank. (they come with shoe stablizers inside, no extra charge) They appeared to be large looking, however once they were on they fit. Make sure and follow the manufactures size chart and you can't go wrong. I'm going to watch for these to go on sale again to have a second pair.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just okay, not spectacular, January 13, 2009
These are not what I expected from Kenneth Cole, they are sturdy, and fairly good looking, but VERY uncomfortable, even broken in. The material is man-made and it "pops" on the top of the shoe when you walk, because the material is so rigid. It is quite annoying in quiet rooms. And getting them on is quite the process, if you have a shoe horn you'll want to use it.
Overall, I give them 3 stars because of the low cost and sturdiness, but comfort, fit and general wear satisfaction are greatly lacking.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad but not good either,, January 11, 2009
the shoe if examined up close looks kinda cheapish. from far away its ok. the crease that usually forms right above the toes when you walk looks bad, maybe its just my foot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the money!!!, December 12, 2008
A great pair of shoes for the money, but lacks the comfort and elegant feel, I prefer Bostononian. You can't go wrong though, even at Payless, a pair of dress shoes go for more and there is no comparison on the quality.
