Dee Lundgren, Langhorne PA counselor,
This review is from: Unlocking the Secrets of Your Childhood Memories (Paperback)
As a licensed professional counselor this is a book that stays in my office as a reference. I have used a technique that I learned from this book. I like to ask the question, "What are your three earliest childhood memories." I have found this an invaluable technique to use with clients to enable me to understand them at a much deeper level. The authors also go one step farther by showing the reader how to take the sting out of these memories. As always, A+ for any book that Kevin Leman has helped author.

Informative AND Entertaining,

I love the way this author writes. I've also read "The Birth Order" book and this book is a complement to it. Very factual and educational but he writes in a rather humorous tone. You cannot help but chuckle; just as the subject is about to get a bit too "heavy", he will make you laugh. Otherwise, you might have to put the book down for a while and resume reading at a later date. He incorporates a lot of his own life experiences.

This book did more for me than 5 years of counseling! How incredible to learn how my earliest memory affected my self-esteem and my marriage! I recommend this book for anyone interested in why they are the way they are. It's a fast read - funny and engaging with a lot of personal stories from the authors. The back has lots of worksheets to fill in your own memories and steps to work through them. The authors really walk you through this process. If you are searching for answers about yourself, start here.

Right on about my childhood memories. Very interesting. You should read this and see what you remember first and how that impacts who you are today.

I was in the process of reading this eye opening book when my house burned down, my husband of 24 years left me and my life started over. It is an easy read and even lighlty humorous. We are all unfinished grain, as in wood, to be shaped into whatever we choose. Thank you for writing it.
