Success is not a dirty word,

Starting my own business has been very difficult. I have tried to find books that not only provide some hope or knowledge but also keep my focus on what matters (ie. family and God). This book explains how to obtain your goals whatever they may be(more time with the kids, increase income, or better life with spouse). For me this book represents one important truth, which is you don't have to be poor to be a Christian. Great Book!!

Here is a book full of wisdom from one who has lived his life to the fullest! One of those wonderful true accounts of a self made man living justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God. In addition to buying a copy for my family, I bought this book for my college nephew as I believe this book has all the necessary elements for encouraging a young person to set goals and strive for success without compromising personal integrity and devotion to the Lord. Don't miss the great thought provoking review questions in the back of the book! Mr. Meyer is in the same genre as Zig Ziglar, Norman Vincent Peale and Dale Carnegie. This is an incredible value...!! You've got to read this book!

I recently purchased this book to help develop a game for our graduating seniors. Each year our church recognizes its high school and college seniors. I found this book to be extremely helpful in talking about how to develop legacies -- staying away from bad legacies. I particularly liked the little insert boxes on various pages that make you focus on what you have just read.An example would be: "You could just have easily been born in a different country under a different name--with a very different future! I found it to be a quick and easy read. A good resource book!

Paul Meyer, co-author of "Chicken Soup For The Golden Soul" and founder of Success Motivation International, has been considered to be the founder of the personal development industry. He is still going strong in his 70s and has distilled his principals, experience, and observations in "Unlocking Your Legacy."Peter Drucker said, "If you are fortunate, someone with moral authority will ask you `How do you want to be remembered' early enough in your life so that you will continue to ask it as long as you live." Meyer begs this question throughout "Unlocking Your Legacy" and exhorts us to get started now as we do not get a second chance. Choices today determine our self-image and our legacy. Life problems arise when we try to be something or somebody we are not. People who have a disturbed picture of their real inner begin never discover how great they could be; their potential is a sleeping giant. Meyer's book outlines a path to unlocking our sleeping giant...and our legacy. Discovering our talents provides clues to who we are, where we fit, and how we can build our personal legacy. The book's essential thesis for unlocking our legacy is love and living the Christian life. Love brings unstoppable freedom when we learn to love as God intended. Meyer asks: "Do we really trust God? Experience God? Know God? Or know His will?" Find God and, since every good legacy begins with love, follow Jesus' example of God's love, and live with an attitude of gratitude, discipline, and integrity (when all you have is integrity, you have more than enough). "Unlocking Your Legacy" builds on love and the Christian life with chapters on: My Work Is My Ministry Settling Life In Order - turning dreams into reality, why a philosophy for living is necessary for life. Living Life To It Fullest (complete with thirteen habits to seize each day) - forgiveness, laughter, wait to worry The Greatest Legacy Of All - walking with Christ Life is real - everyone will encounter good and bad. An essential truth is that in life's most trying times, what is most important instantly comes to the surface; what is not becomes inconsequential. "Unlocking Your Legacy" helps us to focus on the consequential and will serve as a good reference when we confuse the important with the inconsequential.

This is an excellent book. Not many write today approaching leadership from a Godly and Biblical point of view. Most feel that moral principles of living no longer come from the Bible sadly, not understanding that all true morality comes from God. The author's approach is from a lifetime of experience. Thankfully, he doesn't get into religious doctrines in the book, making it that much more useful and universal in application to all.

I gave this to my son as one of the presents for graduating from High School & all he has done is rave about it! He wants to get it for his friends because he said it is changing his life.I guess the person who didn't like it isn't a Christian. As a Christian we thought the book incredible.

Do not waste your time on this book. I believe all of this authors books are rated by friends or family members. This author is getting rich off of telling people what to do with zero proven results for anyone other than himself and his family!Read the Bible you will fare much better! |
