This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for its straightforward and easily understood examination of the subject matter.

Today's ecumenical movement has drawn many Protestants and Roman Catholics together under the belief of sharing a common faith, but underlying this movement is a lack of familiarity with the history and official doctrines and dogma of the Roman Catholic Church.

Many Roman Catholics assume that all the doctrines, dogma, and traditions of their church are based on the faith of the Apostles and the Bible. Many Protestants assume that Roman Catholicism is just another valid form of Christianity. Much of the language used by both sides sounds the same, but the definitions, beliefs, applications, and perspectives behind this language are anything but the same.

Many Roman Catholic teachings remain out of view for the average church-goer and mass-attendee, but "Unmasking Catholicism" uncovers and documents a great deal of this information and presents it in easy to understand language, unlike many books covering this subject matter.

Whether or not this is your first exposure to this subject matter, you'll want to read it from beginning to end and keep the book as a handy quick reference. Reading this book will put you ahead of most professing Christians, who never take the time to thoroughly examine the most important question in life: "How do you hope to get to heaven?" There is nothing more important than determining where you will spend eternity. I urge you to read "Unmasking Catholicism", praying first to the Lord to lead you into all truth.

Interesting.......unmasking is exactly that. Its funny how stuff thats taught for so long is assumed 100% correct because its a big and old organisation. Well nope....starting with the political slight-of-hand that created the Nicene Creed, the amoral idea from Augustine of a "Just War" etc , well , it all went down hill after that. And to anyone who challenges the idea that teaching wrongs often enough turns them into rights, some points to consider:

(1) Mary & Saints can intercede with God - but only Jesus can ( John 14:6 )
(2) Mary was without sin - but all have sinned ( Rom 3:23 )
(3) That the Traditions have equal weight with the Bible - this is adding to the Bible and we are told not to ( Rev 22:18-19)
(4) That the Pope is infallible when speaking ex-cathdra , - implies he is perfect , but all humans have sinned ( Rom 3:23 )
(5) That the Pope is called Holy Father - only God is called Holy Father ( John 17:11 )
(6) Purgatory exists - not in the Bible - man made tradition only.
(7) Saved in part by works - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." ( Ephesians 2:8-9 )
(8) In the catechism, Commandment #2 is missing - why?

(9) Jesus being offered as unbloody ssacrifice - Jesus was offered once for all ( Heb 10:12 ) so there is no need for ongoing sacrifices in the Eucharist in the Mass, but also without blood being spilt, no sacrifice is offered ( Hebrews 9:22 )
(10) Jesus is head of the church, not Peter :
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected [Jesus], the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? ( Matthew 21:42 )

This book is easy-to-read and packs a lot of information into an economic use of words. Much of the information contained herein is not unique to this book, but would require extensive online searching to bring it together. Mary Ann has done all the work and put it in a condensed format that draws the reader into her heart. She has written with passion and compassion and a real desire to tell the truth and honor God. Biblical references are included along with comparison passages and the reader is encouraged to check them out.

Some would call this "Catholic Bashing", but since the information comes largely from Catholic sources, those charges would be unfounded. This book will break the heart of anyone who is, or has friends or relatives who are, in the Catholic Church and who is interested in its true nature. The gentle approach to proclaiming the truth is in contrast to the harshness of the truths themselves. There are many things that are "right" with the Catholic Church, but the underlying principles by which it operates are destructive to those who are caught in its deception. This book exposes the church's seamy side to the truth of God's Eternal Word and Catholicism is found wanting.

Well researched -- lots of references. This is not someone with a bias. The information is verifiable. I have been studying these issues for some time and found it quite revealing/insightful. Every Catholic and non-Catholic ought to read it and come to his or her own conclusion.

If you are the type who enjoys Mein Kampf and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in order to learn about Judaism then this is the book for you. There is some question as to whether the author even exists see: [...]. You will notice her bio is vague and impossible to verify. If you remember the old Maria Monk tales that were disproved back in the 19th century you will find this book familiar. Books of this kind are a type of Protestant pornography designed to excite the mind and other parts. This could well be another hoax. On the other hand she could have been rejected by a convent and is now taking her revenge. I would suggest that she had perhaps some mental or emotional problems. Her webpage bolsters that notion. Assuming she is a real person. If you are ready to go beyond Jack Chick and want to know what Catholics truly believe then simply google the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It's all right there. For the record I am a former fundamentalist preacher who is now a Catholic priest. I am very happy as a Catholic and have long since moved beyond the myopic bigotry that this book represents.
