Book Description

Floods. Earthquakes. Tornados. Asteroids. Nature can be vicious. But when you combine natural disasters with the very unnatural imaginations of the authors in this collection, you get terrors worse than anything Mother Nature has ever thrown at us, forays into nightmarish worlds that make a hurricane look like a light summer breeze.

Join Scott Nicholson, William Meikle, Daniel Pyle, Robert J. Duperre, Danielle Bourdon, Keith Gouveia, Ruth Francisco, J.A. Titus, and Robin Morris for nine horrific tales that will leave you cringing, gasping, and so scared of the outdoors you’ll never want to leave your house again.

What they’re saying about Daniel Pyle:

Dismember

Dismember’s a fast-paced grindhouse-movie of a book with plenty of unexpected twists and turns and a fresh new crazy for a villain. The late Richard Laymon would have been grinning ear to ear.”
—Jack Ketchum, multiple Bram Stoker Award-winning author of The Girl Next Door and The Woman

“With Dismember, Daniel Pyle joins the select group of authors who can provide real chills and genuine surprises. Taut, weird, and intriguing.”
—Jonathan Maberry, multiple Bram Stoker Award-winning author of The Dragon Factory and The Wolfman

“The tourniquet-tight plot and constant suspense keeps the pages flying. A solid, suspenseful thriller that enables readers to envision the movie it could become.”
     —Publishers Weekly

Down the Drain

“Pyle’s tight little monster tale packs a nasty wallop.”
—Michael Louis Calvillo, author of I Will Rise and As Fate Would Have It

“Horror should be fun. Scary, of course...but above all, it should be fun. Too many people seem to have forgotten that. Well, Daniel Pyle has not forgotten. With his novella, Down the Drain, Pyle has crafted a tale that evokes all the eye-popping strangeness and excitement that got me into horror in the first place. I loved it, and I can guarantee you’ll never look at your bathtub the same again.”
—Joe McKinney, author of Dead City and Apocalypse of the Dead

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Like your Adventures a Little Spooky... December 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
My complaint about this book is it is not long enough! I devoured it in three days after jumping in. I am a huge fan of horror short stories and disaster movies and this is a great blend of those two things. A whole cadre of strange monsters and weather patterns. It's priced just right for those curious Kindle Readers out there. I look forward to more stories and compilations from Daniel Pyle.

This is one of the best short story collections that I have read in a while. I can honestly say I enjoyed each and every one. Dinosaurs, asteroids, cannibalism, snow storms, heck even bigfoot makes an appearance! Very well written and very original. Loved every single page of it.

All nine stories were very creative in how they destroyed the world. It was a very fun read, and a must for anyone who is obsessed with these types of stories like I am.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't Go Outside!
This is a fun little book, for sufficiently macabre values of "fun". The stories are quick reads, different enough not to get repetitive, but held together neatly by the theme. Read more
