I have bought FF7 stratagy guide, and I found out another book that is much better. In the Official guide, it left out some tidbits, and also didn't give you many killer materia combos. In the Unofficial, not only does the unofficial tell of ALL the correct monsters, their morphs, their HP, and MP! It also gives you a nifty poster too, and you can get it for about $10.00. It also tells you of 100's of materia combos, and alot of them were not mentioned in the Official guide. Just wanted to say that. The crusial How-to's, and all that were just fine in the Official guide, but was put together rather slopely.

The guide is ok, but it has no pictures. On bosses the official guide gives a lot of information. In this guide they just have a few sentences. I liked the guide for it's in depth information on the bosses MP and HP. BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER THAT MUCH. I notice that some of the comments indicate that the official guide leaves some information out, but I think differently. The guide is alright, but as the official guide says,"don't settle for anything less. Get ALL the secrets straight from Squaresoft".

I read this guide ...and thought it was brilliant. It gives you recomended Levels and told you how to get all the ultimate weapons including Cloud's Ultima Weapon (which it just got the evening!) I don't really mind that it doesn't have guides on what monsters you can morph into items and nick things from because I could just look at the site "Cheatplanet" or even find out for myself! I've read other reviews and people complain that there are no pictures in this guide but hardcore Final Fantasy gamers wouldn't care.
The Materia Guide was very accurate so it helped me quite a lot.

Overall I thought this was an excellent guide eventhough it had some minor faults. I would heavily consider buying this off amazon.com. ... I thought I would never finish this game. (I still haven't, yet. I'm going to try to tomorrow.)

this game really helped me conquer the games toughest bosses and it was easy to under stand!im glad i bought this excellant book!

This book told me how to fing things like materias and hidden places. I would really recommened this book to everyone.

This book is really complete. I bought FF7 and played it 2 times. When i read this book... I just realized that i missed almost half of the game, i didn't even own half of the materian listed on this book. It made me discover a dozens of places i never went to... and i discovered where to find Vincent Valentine... But it doesnt describe very accurately where to find some things

The walk-through is good. As are the data for weapons, Materia, and monsters. The tips are hard to find and not to helpful. A clearer setup would greatly improve this guide. For a newbe to the Final Fantasy series this book is a must.

no pictures (disapionting) some materia is wrong the advanced intelligence report's levels are way low. But otherwise it was a good guide

This is the most horrid strategy guide i have ever laid my eyes on, a lot of the info is inaccurate and with lack of pictures, you lose your interest fast i suggest going with the official guide it is 999999999999999999999999999 times better!!!!!!

FFVII: Strategies & Secrets is a MUST for any Final Fantasy player who wants to get everything in the game. There is, however, something I want to point out: it doesn't list WHERE to find weapons, armor, and acessories in Appendix B. However, throughout the book, in the Advanced Intelligence Reports, it DOES list the weapons/armor/accessories you can buy in each town. (It does not list where to find SECRET weapons/armor/acessories, but it DOES list them.)

I'm VERY pleased with the Advanced Intelligence Reports. It lists what you can buy at towns (and how much each one costs!), what bosses you're up against (their HP/MP, weaknesses, everything!), and what minor baddies you have to fight. It has a VERY exhaustive guide to all the mosters of FFVII in the back...inlcluding their HP/MP, EXP, AP, Gil, weaknesses, and where they can be found!! Bottom line: if you want to get the most out of FFVII, get this guide!

NOTE: I reccomend that you beat FFVII first WITHOUT using the guide, becuase it reveals a LOT of the plot, and that would spoil the whole FFVII experience!
