Bob Haden's Unopened Letters From God: is a magnificent, comprehensive study of dreams. It is a wonderful book for everyone who is interested in their dreams and learning what they mean. Bob Haden is a retired Episcopal priest who was lead to bring dream work to the everyday man and woman to reveal to us how important it is to pay attention to our dreams. God has been speaking to us through dreams since the beginning of time. The Bible is full of dreams. It is time for us to pay attention to our dreams. We can use dreams to discover the life God has given us to live and become the person we are meant to be. This book makes dream interpretation relevant to today and it can be used independently or in a dream group.

The process of working through the dream exercises throughout this book was life-changing for me even though I have collected dreams and worked with their contents over the last 15 years. The three important personal messages I received from this book include: 1) how we must face and recognize our own shadowy, manipulative and deceitful forces; 2) own them as our own energies and; 3) act from a healing and liberating "Lamb-power" manner toward ourselves and others. The author, an Episcopal priest with extensive background in Jungian and Dream work, encourages the reader in each chapter to work through examples of personal dreams to see how they act as a self-regulating symbolic image system that desires balance within and without. This book stresses the importance of recognizing important dream symbols such as homes and hotels, modes of transportation, animals, dark or fear-inducing characters, moving up or down stairs or ladders, repeating symbols or strong feelings of jealousy disguised as frustration, depression or hate, and weird figures. The book also shows how readers can make the personal choice to start asking clarifying questions of these dream symbols to successfully integrate all of the energies-both light and dark- in each of us into consciousness and balance. I highly recommend this book for readers or groups interested in working with their dreams and integrating dream information through a Christian Mystical lens along with the wisdom of Jungian Psychology and working with unconscious material.

Bob Haden has created a wonderful workbook to introduce the power of dream work to spiritual growth. The book is structured around a number of dreams from the Bible, stories which may be familiar to many readers. In clear and straightforward language he interprets the Biblical dreams, with a Jungian spin, then shows us how to apply that understanding to our own dreams. The book provides blank pages to record our own dreams and try to understand and interpret them. The book has many excellent examples taken from Haden's many years of experience working with dreams and dream groups as founder of the Haden Institute, [...]. This book is especially valuable for Christians who may be curious about dreams but timid about venturing into this territory. It would serve as a good workbook for a church-based dream group.

Fine book with tie-in to scripture. Will be a good resource to teaching others of dreams that is biblically based.

This is an excellent resource for those who wish to begin dream work as a spiritual discipline and well as experienced dream workers.
