Acoustic album of AAE favorites,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Unplugged (Audio CD)
In the years after All About Eve disbanded, there were several albums made from a series of live concerts in January and February 2000. This is one of three differently titled albums with the same content - the others are Fairy Night Lights (live acoustic) disc one, and Acoustic Nights (disc 1 of 2). Amazon's MP3s of this album are listed as All About Eve (live). Though the music is identical, the packaging differs. Unplugged does not include the second disc, made from live concerts between March 2000 and March 2001, so if you want the complete set, buy either Acoustic Nights, or both Fairy Light Nights and Fairy Night Lights Two.
The CD inserts are different. Unplugged, made in Germany, has an attractive cover photo of Julianne Regan, but no other connection to the band. Acoustic Nights has an insert containing a good deal of historical information about the band, written by Russell Beecher, while the Fairy Light Nights pair have photography by Julianne Regan for cover art, with photos of the band and some informal comments made by them. Since the content of this album is the same as the first disc of the other two sets, it isn't necessary to buy all three versions unless you want all the cover art and inserts. Which of course as a rabid AAE fan, I did! The sound quality and balance on these acoustic concerts is not particularly good, compared with the studio albums, but these historic concerts provide some welcome tracks that are otherwise hard to find, like "Share It With Me," "Will I Start To Bleed," "Miss World," "Are You Lonely," and "Appletree Man."
