The Revolving roots that "CAN'T " Be Arrested...,
By Jamn Jan Taylor (Eagle Rock, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unplugged (Audio CD)
This album is To BE...one in which should Be...a part of ones immediate and timely collection. I most appreciated the collected thoughts of positive vibes, mostly the props and praises to the Most High- Creator. as noted on tract 6- (Raining Revolution ). I also loved the rhythms and embraced them as I did on my last two trips to Kenya, East Africa in 1999 and Y2K. It's nice to know that the fingers and roots of the mother of civilization is still passed on thru her children and has not completely been lost, like the keys to the meaning of the 3D triangles in the sands of Kemit. I also dig the fact that the lead lady vocalist, Miss Nadirah Shakoor continued with the positive flow that she experienced singing on the Rhythm Nation Tour with Miss Janet Jackson. She can also be seen in Janet's "Black Cat " live concert video doin her thang. Miss Nadirah's vocals are AWESOME, as noted on tract 7, (Fishin' 4 religion ). And I look forward to hearing her solo album projects, ( "SOUL POWER" -Japanese import and "NADIRAHSONGS"-independently released by her... (how ever long it takes... :) in the near future. This album, " A.D. Live" is A Must for your grey matter...cuz,... IT MATTERS................PEACE...

This is one of the hard-to-find CD in the market today. The group made waves in the late 80' & early 90's. I first watched their MTV Unplugged concert video before I started a hunt-and-search of this CD. Finally, I found this CD here in Amazon. It's a very rich album although the last few songs are edited tracks removing the vocals which is still great if you know the lyrics and sing-along with it while on a long drive. Also, the group made a very great rendition of an old song "Everyday People". Mr. Wendell is very crisp and upbeat in nature. It's one of the best old school RnB album you can find in any CD store today. Just plain acoustic!
