5.0 out of 5 stars Great Christian Album, August 6, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Unplugged (Audio CD)
I too owned this CD one time and lost it but I too am waiting to get a new copy of it. This CD is awesome. If you enjoy acoustic music that glorifies God than you will love this CD. I have one other Kry CD but it is not as good as this one by far. This CD features some of their best stuff. And the French singing is cool as well on some of the songs. Good CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plug into The Kry "Unplugged", June 10, 2000
By
This review is from: Unplugged (Audio CD)
Owning this CD has more meaning if you also own the companion "Unplugged" video (5 Stars by-the-way). The Kry recorded this one "live" in a studio in Nashville. Producer/keyboardist John Andrew Shreiner plays alongside the trio along with the "Kry Khoir" (background vocalist) in a well recorded and nicely packaged acustic set.

If you already own the video, you will notice that the CD and video sequencing are different. The video also splices in some interviews with the guys, plus they get kind of silly too. It is nice to see their fun side.

The album itself showcases songs from the albums "I'll Find You There" ("Wild Wild World") and "You" ("He Won't Let You Go", "Everywhere", "I Can't Stop Thinking About You", "Lay Down Your Gods"). Two new songs are sung: "Empty Heart"; and "Little Love". A very nice rendition of "Be Still My Soul" and a stirring "Jesus Is Coming Soon (Soon and Very Soon) Medley" round out the 10 songs on this album.

Hearing the CD and viewing the video makes me want to see these fellows live. Maybe you will feel the same way once listening to "Unplugged" too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have!, May 26, 2000
This review is from: Unplugged (Audio CD)
I first heard this album about 4 years ago. I unfortunately lost the CD. Here I am, 4 years later, eagerly awaiting it's arrival. It's that good. I am not an easy sell either. I usually have to listen to an album at least a half a dozen times before I really get into it. I fell in love with this album the first time I heard it. If you like great acoustic music, meaningful lyrics and solid songwriting, then pick this one up!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Kry's acoustic CD "Unplugged" has it all.., May 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Unplugged (Audio CD)
In a music world where there seems to be a lack of balance between jammin' tunes and meaningful lyrics, the Kry is one of those bands that brings both to the table, and "Unplugged" is one of their best albums. There is a thread of hope that runs through all of their lyrics, in songs like "He Won't Let You Go" and the old hymn remake "Be Still My Soul", hope is whispered to you as you listen, that there is an answer to the emptiness of this life. That hope in the middle of despair is probably best heard though in "You're All I Need", where strong vocals capture the feeling of the place all of us have been at one time or another, "when the world is closing in, my strength is running thin, and I'm lost in the storm, You're all I need, there's no need to look anywhere, there's nothing that can compare to the love that You give, You're all I need". Unplugged is more than just ballads though, it's got driven tunes like "Empty Heart", "Little Love", and "Lay Down Your gods", carried by the strong acoustic guitar playing of Pete Nelson (go Vern!), acoustic bass by Jean-Luc Lajoie and drums by Yves Lajoie. And for the harmonica lover in all of us true classic rock fans, there is "I Can't Stop Thinking About You", with a wailing harmonica bridge, possibly one of the best cuts on the album. Sometimes you can get discouraged hearing what passes for "good" Christian rock music, but that will not happen with Unplugged, it's good for the ears and the soul.

This is my favorite CD. I lost it and now I finally found it again. I would strongly recomend this CD. I have found The Kry's music to be very uplifting. They seem to have a positive sound and out look.
