Book Description

Centuries following the destruction of the Wizard Sett by its own Black Dragon, a young wizard apprentice finds herself thrust into a magical world that she thought only existed in bedtime stories. In a twist of fate, she joins a traveling group of shapeshifters on a quest to find the key to saving all of Lagrangia from a darkness that’s spreading like a disease across the land. Her travels become a journey of self-discovery, turning her perceived reality upside down. As she exposes herself to the magical world, she becomes a beacon to the one that they all fear. But can the love she finds in the arms of a shapeshifting Draak overpower the evil that’s seducing her from within her dreams?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun! March 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Looking for a relaxing fantasy romance? Want to slip into a world so full of detail and interesting characters that you'll want to set up a permanent residence? This is the book for you!

This is the first part of a multi-book series and it sets up the world beautifully. There's intrigue, violence, spicy teasing, sadness, hope, family bonds, and the occasional magic spell. I'm a character person, and the people of this work have depth, motivation, and you'll want to know them all. As a special touch, the author has illustrated this book, which helps the world come alive in your imagination. The imaginative illustrations have a lovely classic style.

As you can probably tell, I loved reading this book. I's one of those where, when you reach the end, you're hungry for more so you re-read it to try and catch tidbits or hints of what you may have missed. I can't wait for the second part!

4.0 out of 5 stars keeps right on moving... September 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I found the book fun and interesting. Great mix of supernatural and details. I couldn't give her a 5 star only because it still was a little rough in areas, I had to go back and reread to catch certain things. But great artist, great writer and great book... I am ready to read the next book and will keep track of this author!

3.0 out of 5 stars Drawings better than story September 2, 2013
By Mara
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The drawings are just delightful.
However, the sex fantasies are a bit too much and a bit too much S&M.
It kept my attention throughout but by the end I was really, really ready for a resolution to the story.
I don't fl that it's worth slogging through FIVE more books of the series.

Let me be honest: I am SHOCKED this book was free. SHOCKED.

Tianna is a single young woman and the healer's apprentice of Trille, one of the many human villages on the island of Langaria. She's a constant outcast to the entire village for she is strikingly beautiful and has strange fire healing powers. The village people subconsciously feel the awaiting power that is within Tianna and keep their distance and make display of their disgust. Little does she know, she's meant for something big; something that will save all of Langaria from the destruction of evil that spreads throughout the land. Tianna is not the human she thought she was.

Directed by the `Seer', four Draak (dragon) set out to find their prophesized warrior who will save all creatures of the land, human and magical, of Langaria. Here enters Tianna. There is something strangely familiar to them about this beautiful female. Finding her hunting in the woods, they take her under their wing (figuratively) and head to their Draak home,Haven. Along the way, learning of magical beings, their culture and her heritage, adventure is around every corner. She slowly finds out who she really is and what, exactly, she is capable of.

On the journey throughout this wonderful book, evil roams and destroys the land. They say a powerful warrior is among them that can stop this evil. Will they ever discover this prophesized warrior? Or will the evil continue to spread and destroy innocent lives, including Tianna's? (I'll end here so I don't become too much of a spoiler.)

I highly recommend this book. It's set during a medieval time. Don't let that be your 'turn off'. This book, by all means, was ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but slow September 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
From the beginning of the book, you know who the fated warrior is going to be. The fact that somehow even the most intelligent of the adventurers don't see that was unrealistic. Adding that to the forced romantic tensions in the plot made for a slow uncomfortable book.

The world is really interesting. For that and the fact that the grammar and sentence structure is good, I give it three stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! March 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Very well written. The characters and plot are fleshed out well. I always look to separate characters, no matter how many main characters there are within 4 beginning chapters. If I cant figure out who is who, I move on. Very well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Read, read, read, and read again!!!!! August 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Absolutely one of the best books I've read in a very long time. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
The heroine is raised as human, not knowing her heritage. She goes from a place where no one wants her, everybody fears her-to her choices of mates! Love, betrayal, learning, strengthening, and bending in all the right places. I was on the edge of my seat reading this book.
This is a must buy!

More About the Author

Paulette is the author of the 5 book, Blue Fire epic novel series.

I live in central Illinois with my husband, two children, and many pets. With my dog George at my feet, a replica weapon collection and dragon statues around me for inspiration, I've combined my own drawings with words to paint the fantasy world of Lagrangia.

Why would a 'full-time worker by day' and 'want-to-be artist by night' write a book series? I have absolutely no idea, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason and, therefore, my insane drive to expose myself to the writing world must also serve a purpose. Only time will tell.

So...if you want to read a fantasy story about the power of love and friendship, give Blue Fire a try. If the series helps just one person escape for a few minutes from whatever is troubling them, I'll consider myself a success.

Note: This series contains adult situations and was written with a mature audience in mind.
