Da Brat's Album is Tight!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Unrestricted (Clean) (Audio CD)
When I bought Da Brat's album, I thought it was great. The beats were great. I especially like the songs "That's What I'm Lookin' For", "What'chu Like", and "Pink Lemonade." I hope Da Brat keeps up the great work she is doing now, for the future.

Without a doubt, this is the best effort that Da Brat has ever made. I would really like to know the team that Da Brat worked with becuase they totally re-invented her music for the better. Her beats are no longer boring and monotonous as opposed to her other cd's. They all have an original R&B beat with swaavy rap lyrics and tunes! She also succesfully collaborated with really great artist like Kelly Price, Ja Rule and Tyrese (excellent choices).Bravo da brat. You're contributing to the changing face of rap music. Well done and keep up the work. Below are my reviews of the entire album.1. We Ready - (featuring JD/Lil Jon)- a bit annoying but it's aight. 2. What'chu Like - (featuring Tyrese)- really tight song but the r&b beat is not original (Montell Jordon's beat) 3. F**k You- a bit to explicit. I don't like it at all 4. Back Up - (featuring Ja Rule)- how could you not love this song. Ja Rule really spice it up! 5. Runnin' Out Of Time - (featuring Kelly Price)- favourite song on this cd...the pace is fast and Kelly just adds her natural flavour. 6. That's What I'm Looking For- can be monotonous but this song is really really tight! Second favourite song on this CD 7. Breeve On Em - (featuring 22)- not to fascinating but it would pass 8. What's On Your Mind - (featuring 22/La Tocha Scott/Trey Lorenz)- fairly well composed and a somewhat even share of singing/rapping 9. Pink Lemonade - (featuring Debra Killings)- interesting but not to appealling 10. Chi Town - lyrically sweet and enticing. Sweet flavour and mixing 11. Heartbreaker - (remix, featuring Mariah Carey/Missy Elliott)- the only good part in this song is Da brat's rapping (Missy could pass). Without Da Brat this song would have bombed. In all honesty this album has it's flaws (some of the beats sound the same and one or two songs ( )) but it's worth the buy and certainly the listen! |
