In keeping with this, she tries to stay away from her family. Little did Sissy know she could not run from her past, or her gift. She hopes someone will put her out of her misery, but she will soon discover that her visions and dreams were just a mere image of herself.

Review- Loved it!! Could not put it down until i finished it. first in a long time since i felt that way about a book. --Read For Your Future

We read this selection for our book club in June. Our book club rated this book a 5! WE BE BOOK'N BOOK CLUB really discussed this book. Ms Dorsey has done a wonderful job with her first book. She keeps you reading and not wanting to put the book down! At the beginning, you might say "Oh this is an teenager read", but after getting into the book, it's definitely a page turner. It has many twists and turns that will keep you wondering what is really going on, and at the very end you will be very much surprised. The Unsacred Gift will still keep you thinking long after you have finished the book. All our club can say is a JOB WELL DONE, MS. DORSEY!!!! Waiting and anticipating the next exciting book from Ms. Dorsey. --We Be Book'N Book Club

In the tradition of the 80s and 90s Point Horror teen books, comes The Unsacred Gift by C.S. Dorsey, where a young woman, Sissy, carries a terrible secret - she has visions of someone's death just by touching them.

Her grandmother's birthday is approaching and Sissy returns home, after leaving her small town for several years, to attend the party. To her surprise, her mother has been engaged to a man for over a year. Sissy continues to have nightmares of her sister's death from when she was a child. She recalls trying to warn her mother of what was going to happened, but it was too late.

It seems her family has gotten on with their lives ever since Sissy left for college. Just as she is adjusting to the new family changes, the dark twisted visions return - ones that may reveal the truth about what happened to her sister.

Sissy from The Unsacred Gift reminds me a lot of Johnny from The Dead Zone, only here Sissy cannot predict the future, and she can only predict death. Some people may call this a gift, but it is a curse for Sissy. Who would want the power to see how someone would die? But then again, maybe you could try to stop death from occurring. The Unsacred Gift was a nice change for the Young Adult genre, which has way too many vampire/werewolves titles out on the market. The author, C.S. Dorsey, uses great pacing and creative dialogue to tell Sissy haunting tale. I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Unsacred Gift and it was a breath of fresh air.

"The Unsacred Gift" by C.S. Dorsey

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this Paranormal Fantasy, Young Adult story. I would recommend it for teenagers looking for a good book to read. I would also recommend it to Adults who like to read Young Adults novels. Overall, I rate this book 4 STARS because it kept me wanting to read it and find out what happened. I think Young Adults lovers will definitely enjoy "The Unsacred Gift" by C.S. Dorsey.

The main character of this book has visions of how people are going to die. She tries to avoid contact with everyone, including her family, so that she would not have to deal with seeing any visions of their death. When she was a young child, she saw that her sister was going to die. When her sister disappeared, nobody - not even her own mom- would believe her when she told them about her vision. They just acted like it never happened. Now, years later when she returns home from college, her family is still acting like nothing happened. New and strange things are happening that she needs to figure out. She wants to get to the bottom of her sister's murder.

I enjoyed the characters of this book. I think it is definitely a good book for YA readers. I was very interested in finishing this book to find out all that was going on. The ending was completely unexpected and I loved how the author wrote it. I look forward to more books by this author and plan to add them to my TBR (To Be Read) list.
