5.0 out of 5 stars Unsavory Delicacies is mouthwatering! April 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Russell Brooks has done it again and amazed me with his creative gift. All three short stories were page turners full of intrigue. One of my favorite characters, Fox from Pandora's Succession, did not disappoint and hints of of what he's capable of in a full length novel. Highly recommended read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Three Suspenseful Short Stories by a New Author For Me January 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
How far would you go to get revenge on the person who ruined your reputation? In these three short stories by Russell Brooks, a rogue operative, a food critic, and a mob boss each encounter embarrassing and tragic consequences for their actions. I truly enjoyed these stories; they were fast-paced and gripping. I give 'Unsavory Delicacies' an A!

Full Disclosure: 'Unsavory Delicacies' by Russell Brooks read and reviewed by Mary McGirr, an avid reader and book reviewer from Albany, New York. Many thanks to the author as I received a copy of this book for free from him.

3.0 out of 5 stars A treat! :D November 28, 2012
By Jess
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a compilation of three very short stories. I will do my best not to give anything away as I break up my thoughts on the three.
Creme Brulee is one of those little twisted tales where not everything is as it seems. You're reading the words carefully and something starts itching on the back of your head saying "Hmmmm...there's something not right here.'' You get a delicious surprise when you find the mystery unravels.
To the Last Bite was my favorite of the three. Don't know what it says about me...but let me just say this...revenge is sweet!
Last, but not least is Shashlyk and Morezhenoe a tale of getting exactly what you want but in ways you didn't expect! When it seems you're dealing with some tough crime bosses, what's the fear in their eyes do to you when you find maybe they're not so tough after all!
I will warn those of you enticed to read this, that it is a short approx. 28 page read. When I thought about the way I rate...I did not let the length get in the way. I strictly rate on the writing and how I felt about the story or in this case stories as a whole. I give this book my thumbs up!
