Book Description

December 5, 2002
Unscrewing Your Head is the story of Professor Henry Penworthy who is being sued for divorce by his wife because he is the world's most boring man. At the same time, his university bosses are pressuring him so that he will become fed up with his working conditions and resign. Professor Penworthy writes a textbook that becomes an international bestseller as a self-help book. Women begin to send him naughty, suggestive invitations. Men in power begin to seek out his company. He begins to see more clearly what his true goals in life are. His world begins to change in many surprising directions and he is both anxious and exhilarated to find that he is becoming a different man.

About the Author

B.S. Tillinghast, Jr. worked at odd jobs, was a shoe salesman, and served four years in the navy as an enlisted man. He earned three college degrees, was on the faculty of the University of Virginia for five years and later on the faculty of the University of South Alabama for twenty-three years. He has published over three-dozen articles in professional journals. The New York Times Book Review said that his first novel, The Honey Man; was 'hugely funny' and 'comments glancingly on the things in life that really matter.' The Library Journal said that his second novel, Bridge To Bonito Island, possessed a 'succinct, pleasant style' that 'engages the reader right up the inevitable denouement.'
