The best collection of music in my library!!!,

I purchased this CD back in 2000, shortly after it was released, having heard a single track, "Sights", on a compilation album sometime in 1999.
This CD is still at the top of my playlist of well over 100 CDs - Troy's two other releases: "The Pursuit of Illusion", and a recent release "The Madness of Crowds", continue to show his matchless strength as a composer and musician. I have given this CD away as a gift for several years and each recipient has marveled at BOTH the uniqueness of the compositions and how their enjoyment of it grows with each listen!

Troy Donockley may not be a household name, but he has been around the Celtic circuit for years playing with "Mostly Autumn", "Iona", & a few other musical groups. He has another Re-Release "The Pursuit of Illusion" which has more singing & a story line. If you like this CD, check out the newer one. This older CD is more instrumental but reveals his skill at the Uilleann Pipes, Low Whistles, Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Keyboards, Cittern, Mandolin, & voice. Teri Bryant & Joanne Hogg from Iona play in this CD with the Emperor String Quartet. I would classify this CD as either Celtic Folk as in song #6 or Celtic New Age as in the last song, but it's not like Eyna because Troy has more classical elements in his music. In fact one song #7 "Finlandia" is by Sibelius but arranged by Troy for Uilleann Pipes & String Quartet. Most of the CD is rather calming, but once the Irish Pipe tunes come around, watch out. This CD was originally released in 1998 but Re-Released & Remastered in 2005.
