I ordered this book on a spur of the moment when I was going through a bad time. I do believe in the law of attraction but I was in need of a recap of some sort; to remind me that all will be ok. This book was a saving grace to me. It filled me with hope and prevented me from veering off track. Even though it was a relatively short book, it was a very absorbing one. Sonia's writing style is engaging and sympathetic. Like one other reviewer had said, it's like talking to a friend. Mid-way through the book, I felt like I was given a new lease on life. I called my friends whom I know are going through a turbulent time and recapitualted the salient points I've gleaned from Unsinkable. Unfortunately, one of my friends rejected the overall message. I guess to some people, its more comforting to cling on to something familar even if it is to your detriment, than venture off to the unknown as Ms. Ricotti points out in her book.

As a person who's read many books on LOA, I was surprised to learn a common misconception about the law of attraction. Ms. Ricotti clarifies that spending a few hours releasing the negative emotions, be it sadness, disappointment, or anger, the sooner you can put it all behind you and allign yourself with postive energy. Spending a few hours is a lot healthier than carrying the deep-seated negative emotions with you for several months or even years. I used to fret that if I acknowledged my negative feelings, that I would attract undesirable outcomes so I used to ignore it. Thank you Ms Ricotti for that clarification.

What really resonated with me was the part about letting go of the past while retaining the "lesson." Einstein once said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

So, I bought this book after having seen Sonia Ricotti in interview. Actually, I found her more convincing in interview than in her book.
She didn't invent the principle, which is linked to the Law of Attraction, but it is explained in her own way. I have no doubt that this woman, author, is very professional in what she is doing and convinced by what she says.
It is just that it is treated a little lightly according to me in this book, while it is not a light subject at all.

When I saw and listened to her interview, she seemed to have crossed terrible moments, and I was relating to that, since I almost got out of terrible moments myself now.
She was saying that she lost her house, she needed surgery because she had a life-threatening condition, she discovered her soul mate was an alcoholic and so, she got separated from him and couldn't see her step-children anymore.
And when we read her book, we discover that actually, her house was not her house, but her boy-friend's house, that she actually didn't need surgery, because the problem she was supposed to have, mysteriously disappeared (?), she speaks of her step-children just like I do here, saying "step-children". Nowhere their first name, no details about them, no anecdotes, nothing, obviously this woman has no idea what it is to raise kids. We don't even know if they are girls or boys!!!
And she "discovered" her boy-friend was an alcoholic???? I don't know how she did not notice that before! And if this boy-friend didn't tell her before he was an alcoholic, it doesn't show a big trust and respect towards her... So, maybe it is better she is not with him anymore. And I am surprised that the kids are left with a man who drinks, even if it is their father.

I enjoyed her writing style. It felt like a good friend was talking to me and offering me her support and compassion. The most important thing to me was her sharing of new ways I could take responsibility and action to make changes in my life now so I can move forward instead of feeling stuck. Her point of view was refreshing and put me into action and now I feel good. Many thanks.

But, like chumbawumba, I'll get back up again - thanks to this book.

To anyone who ever has faced, is currently facing, or may one day face any sort of downturn, obstacle, challenge, or problem (so, um, everyone) I recommend Sonia's book. I was introduced to her work through a teleseminar, and immediately grabbed up the Kindle version of her book.

Right now I am going through what some would consider to be a pretty major obstacle - about half of what Sonia describes in the beginning of the book as her big "wake up call". Having this book as a tool and a resource to keep me from falling into the role of "victim" and take the easier route has saved me many, many hours of anger, resentment, tears, frustration... I've been able to work constructively on solutions almost the entire time, rather than focusing on the problem.

I owe that in large part to Sonia!

I read the book twice. Once, to get the information and the second time to highlight important messages.
It's a very quick book and has many good suggestions.
Much like many of the other books of this nature, it would be useful for someone who doesn't want to read longer versions of the same genre.
The writer makes everything very understandable and gives concrete exercises that are very do-able.
I think it's worth the time to get some useful suggestions if your life is sunk at the moment.
