Mezarkabul is a metal band from Turkey that blends middle eastern music with metal. The vocals are clean and sometimes hypnotic and the guitars blast out great heavy riffs. The guitars are also used to create middle eastern melodies which sounds good. They also throw in an actual middle eastern instrument here and there. I think that it would have been good if they sang a couple of these songs in Turkish because it would have given it a more middle eastern vibe but the english lyrics work out just fine. If you're looking for some good and different metal then you should buy this cd, you won't be sorry.

The best oriental influenced metal band yet.,
By kuroneko1 "kuroneko1" (Istanbul Turkey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unspoken (Audio CD)
I personally witnessed this band's emergence over the years.Their last album Anatolia was a good example of heavy metal with many oriental influences and Turkish instruments like ney (used for piped music). Mezarkabul (pentagram back then) gave signals with Anatolia album that their uniqe style of metal was coming. Most interestingly, the band performed in front of Bill Clinton and his family with a traditional Turkish folk song from this album (metal style of course) during his visit to Turkey. With unspoken, Mezarkabul finally establishes their own unique style. Outspoken, like Anatolia has lots of Turkish influences and instruments and band succeeds to balance these influences with the barrage of hard hitting power metal (not Euro style, thank God) Songs like In esir like eagle and lions in cage will please all the fans of the genre. Album as a whole is very successful and has no fillers. Actually , outspoken is one of the best power metal albums of the year.

No band is like this,

NO ONE! Picture Metallica meets Maiden meets Turkish music with a splash of Solitude Aeturnus. Crunching riffs, unique melodies, great singing make this one hell of an album. By it today you've never heard anything like it, unless you've heard Pentagram who they used to be.Picks:Unspoken, Puratu, This Too Will Pass 10/10
