A Truelly inspiring book!, May 8, 2005
This review is from: Unstoppable Women: Achieve Any Breakthrough Goal in 30 Days (Paperback)
This book is life transforming! It is Honestly one of the most motivating books I have ever read. Cynthia Kersey lays out a practical plan to help you define a goal and work towards it on a 30 day plan. You may intend to complete the goal in 30 days, or use the 30 days as a jump start to form a new habit. Her program is very practical. Each day you set up an action plan. At the end of the day you go over your accomplishments towards your goal, and write down the things you are proud of that you did that day. You also answer the question, Have I inspired someone else on their Unstoppable Journey?
Not only am I achieving my 30 day goal, but I see every night how much I have done and am capable of doing.
When I answer the question if I have inspired someone else that day, it has made me stop and look at the difference I make daily in other people's lives no matter how big or small. It has helped me feel valuable.
But truelly the best part of the book is at the end of each chapter there is a real life story about individual women who have beat all odds, and made incredible journeys. When you read their stories you really will feel like anything is possible. I highly recommend this book!

Self-programing for goal achievement, April 18, 2005
This review is from: Unstoppable Women: Achieve Any Breakthrough Goal in 30 Days (Paperback)
"Unstoppable Women" is an entire course of self-programing for goal achievement contained in a single book. It is a book of inspirational and motivational stories. It is an instructional manual in how to apply the inspiration and motivation to your own desires and goals. It is a workbook to guide you through a 30 day program of using the inspiration, motivation and instruction in an effective, structured way.
It is like having a life coach to carry around with you for a month.
I recommend the book for women only. Goal development methods and workbook-style teaching work for both genders, but the material is by a woman, about women and for women. However, Cynthia Kersey has an earlier version for both men and women called "Unstoppable." I haven't had the chance to read it yet, but have ordered it on the strength of my regard for "Unstoppable Women."
If you are a woman looking for great ideas on how to get out of your own way and start creating results, try this book.

Your personal life coach!, January 14, 2006
This review is from: Unstoppable Women: Achieve Any Breakthrough Goal in 30 Days (Paperback)
The complete title of the book is "Unstoppable Women: Achieve Any Breakthrough Goal in 30 Days." I skimmed through the pages, hoping to cheat and cram the 30 days into maybe three or four, but when I realized that the book was actually a seminar, workbook, journal, and life-altering guide, I knew I had to take it a day at a time.
Author Cynthia Kersey starts selling her you-can-achieve-anything concept by asking the reader to permanently stop the cycle of giving up.
"Unstoppable Women is built on the proven fact that the more effective way to create lasting change is to do it one step at a time, letting that initial success lead to others. Even the busiest woman can find the time to take a single step, or achieve what I call an unstoppable moment. In doing so, you won't feel overwhelmed by the process, and you'll be able to make the gradual change that will create lasting results."
Most important in achieving any goal is to zero in on what that goal is and to determine what actions need to be taken and how. Part 1 of the book lays it all down in four important steps in preparation for achieving the goal in just 30 days.
Part 2 is the actual 30-day challenge where Kersey opens each day with an affirmation followed by an inspirational success story of an "unstoppable woman" who, despite challenges, achieved her goal. Taking off from the story, Kersey then presents a "to do" section called "Unstoppable Action," where she motivates you to look at yourself, try new things, revisit good values, give, and forgive, among others. She caps each chapter with "Create Your Day Planner: Plan to be Unstoppable!" which takes you to your personal worksheet at the end of the book.
I can say Unstoppable Women is a good read because the collection of success stories is priceless. But I'd also say it's a "mentor" in the kind of handholding it does. During the 30-day challenge, you feel like you have a personal life coach opening your eyes, waking up your spirit, and pumping your adrenalin to take you to that goal you've set for yourself.
What's interesting is, after you've achieved one goal with the help of Kersey's book, you can start working on another goal and use the book again to apply the same techniques! In effect, I could say that Unstoppable Women is not a book - it's a tool. I'd say go ahead, pick it up, and use it many times over.
