5.0 out of 5 stars A great new find!, October 9, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Until Death Do Us Part (Mass Market Paperback)
After stumbling upon this author, I quickly devoured all three of her novels. I am anxiously awaiting more! After becomming disillusioned with Patricia Cornwell, I was glad to find a new female writer who could capture my attention. I think her writing is new and fresh. She incorporates a mystery with showing a woman who has to juggle a career, daughter, and on-again, off-again lover. She manages all this with the stress of a modern woman. She finds she lets people down along the way, but punishes herself lightly, picking up and moving on to the next task. She is someone we all know, the only difference is, she tracks down murderers and prosecutes them. I anxiously await her newest novel! If you are looking for a pleasant change of pace, check out any of her three novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christine McGuire Has Done It Again, May 5, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Until Death Do Us Part (Mass Market Paperback)
Christine Maguire, author of the Kathryn MacKay novels, has done it again. With PART III to the MacKay series, Maguire uncovers the affects of HIV on society. And she does this without losing reality for even a minute. Kathryn MacKay, is about to prosecute Richard Hudson, a man, infected with HIV. He is accused of attempted second degree murder by way of infecting (intentionally) three women with the virus. As the prosecution carries on, a series of bombings are happening and Kathryn must solve both cases, before anything gets out of hand... EVEN MORE.... PART IV is already in the works... STAY TUNED!

This novel kept me guessing almost until the very end! This was such a great read that I just HAD to finish it in one sitting! What I like best about Ms. McGuire's writing is her inside knowledge and her ability to include at least two good plots in one book. Ms. McGuire will have a new book out in April 2001 - I'll be the first in line to get it! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Deputy DA Kathryn McKay is beset on all sides by danger, December 19, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Until Death Do Us Part (Mass Market Paperback)
----- UNTIL DEATH DO US PART Christine McGuire Pocket, Jan 1997, $5.99, 339 pp. ISBN 0-671-53618-4 Deputy DA Kathryn McKay is ready to begin her prosecution of a person on trial for second degree attempted murder. The defendant cold bloodedly infected three females with the HIV virus. Just as the trial starts, a bomb, addressed to the defense lawyer, explodes. Kathryn becomes part of the investigative team trying to track down and capture the person responsible for the blast. Beside her professional life spinning at the speed of light, Kathryn must worry about a potentially life threatening medical condition. Intertwined into her stress laden scenario is a series of murders involving incendiary devices used to kill men handcuffed to their bedposts. It is obvious that the victims know the culprit since bondage is far from being a spectator sport. They also knew their ultimate fate because the bombs were glued to their naked bodies. Along with her fellow worker and significant other Dave Granz, Kathryn uncovers a tenuous link between the bondage killings and her present court case. However, if she fails to discover the precise link that connects the two cases, more people will die a particularly gruesome death by a killer whose hatred knows no bounds. UNTIL DEATH DO US PART is part legal thriller and part police procedural that is a gripping drama that will stun readers with the intensity of emotions it invoke. Part of what makes this complex tale so interesting is that author Christine McGuire does not neglect the personal side of the lead characters. Thus, readers are treated to three dimensional human beings filled with fears, doubts, and flaws. This makes it easy to bond with the lead players. There are two previous books in this series, UNTIL JUSTICE IS DONE and UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY that are as exciting and worth reading. Harriet Klausner ---
