Book Description

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than most angel books out there! March 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Totally captivating, a powerful and entertaining read that will make your heart pound. Amy Lignor's writing style is engaging and full of charm, making it easy to loose yourself in the magical world she created, and connect with all the fabulous characters. Dealing with love, duty, destiny, and difficult choices, Until The Next Time is a beautiful book in many ways.

Matt and Emily are angels sent down to Earth on a mission to stop bad things from happening, all the while leading a "normal human lives" in their human shells (human bodies they're inhabiting). They've been training for that their whole lives, they have skills and unique angel powers, they're well prepared for anything that could happen. The only problem is once their souls are placed in human bodies, their own memories are wiped clean. They don't remember anything, including each other and their meant-to-be relationship. Overwhelmed by human emotions no training could ever have prepared them for, Matt and Emily will need more than faith to survive their time in human world.

What sets Until The Next Time apart from all the other angel books I've read so far, is that the concept behind the story is entirely unique and fresh. And, let's face it, that does not happen very often when it comes to angel books. Sure, the general idea remains the same, but at the same time Amy Lignor puts a very original spin on it, giving us something exciting and new. Something that is very hard to dislike. I liked the idea of taking over someone else's body at the exact moment of the person's death, to ensure that their purpose in life is fulfilled. It was fascinating to read about, thought-provoking and very emotional.

I found the plot line very interesting and mostly well thought out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unique contept, but... March 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have really mixed feelings about this book. I thought the concept was really interesting and unique, but something in the execution was lacking. I can't really figure out what it is, but Until Next Time just didn't wow me.

I found the story kind of confusing, especially with the way it jumped around and went back and forth between heaven and earth. Emily kept saying Matt was the one she was destined to be with, but she loved Jason and would always love him and they would be together again. Well, which was it? I still have no idea who she was really meant to be with. I never quite knew where the story was going, or what the purpose was in a lot of what was going on.

I wasn't really able to connect with any of the characters, but I did find them all likable. I enjoyed the relationship between Liz and Faith - their loyalty to each other and their sisterly bond. Charles and Jason were an interesting, amusing addition, and for the most part the dialogue was believable and moved the story along nicely.

There were parts that were action-filled and exciting. I especially enjoyed when the foursome went to Dublin and we were introduced to new characters, and we finally learned some of the secrets the story had been leading up to. That was definitely my favorite part, it just took a long time to get there, and it went back to being confusing after that.

Overall, this book didn't blow me away. I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. I spent too much time being confused and wondering what was going on and what the point was. There were a few exciting bits, but the parts that dragged outweighed the good parts. From my experience, people either love or hate angel books - I haven't read enough of them to make an informed decision, but if you really enjoy angel books, I'd say this one might be worth a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars YA Bound February 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Sometimes it's hard to convey in a short review just how a story makes you feel. If nothing else, Until Next Time will make you think, question, and feel. Whether or not you're an angel fan, this story touches on some deep emotions and issues of the heart that we all can relate to--the battle within ourselves that questions what is right and wrong, and the struggle of finding our way in life against all odds. I sat back and thought for a long time before I was able to start writing what this story was about, because honestly, I think it can be many things for different people. And that's what I loved about it. Each reader walks away with their own theories of this story, and their own, new feelings on life, pain, and choice concerning their own lives.

The two plots involving Emily/Liz and Matt/Daniel--one story going on in Heaven while another happens down on Earth--tie together to form a bigger picture and overall connection to Emily's struggle with her human and angel self. She and her soul mate Matt have trained as angels in Heaven to Heaven discover why humans lose their hope, and in their human forms, Emily and Matt are sent to Earth as if on recon. They don't retain all their heavenly training, and they battle conflicting human emotions during their mission. Until Next Time is a deep, complex, and thought-provoking story of the struggles of the heart and the fight for love and humanity that will linger with readers long after the story ends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding! New Favorite! April 2, 2012
By Hilary
Format:Kindle Edition
From the very first page, I was hooked. The prologue alone got my imagination running wild. I knew exactly how I wanted the characters to look and how I felt about them. I instantly felt like I knew the characters, as if they were my best friends or real-life people. I couldn't get this novel out of my head - literally dreaming about it every night and reading it every spare minute I had.

The plot keeps you begging for more, it moves a comfortable but fast pace, and the characters come alive in a unique but outstanding way. Amy Lignor did an absolutely outstanding job of transitioning the chapters and keeping the readers intrigued.

This novel has easily become one of my new favorites. And definitely the best book I have read so far in 2012! I highly recommend this novel to anyone who wants a thriller, YA, semi-romance with some action and adventure. Best suited for ages 13 and up because of the romantic theme and implied sexual tension.
