5.0 out of 5 stars This book took me into a different world.
Last Saturday I picked up this book and read it from cover to cover the same day. It is very out-of-character for me to not put down a book and also to read this kind of book. Last Saturday I picked up this book and read it from cover to cover the same day. It is very out-of-character for me to not put down a book and also to read this kind of book. The book was so well written that I felt like I was inside the story watching all the characters and events as they happened. I totally stepped outside of everything familiar to me and entered another world while I was reading this book. I loved the experience of opening myself up to something so different and as a result I embraced more facets of my own personality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Evocative Fiction, July 29, 2003

This review is from: Until Next Time (Paperback)
Until Next Time begins by thrusting the reader into the tortured ecstasy Perry Connors endures every night and yet has no memory of the next day. All he knows is that his body and mind are being overpowered by some force that is too strong to be resisted, and his health is failing as a result of the constant abuse. In his search for help, he meets Dr. Michaele Vincente--Mickey to her friends--and finds an experienced psychiatrist who is not only his best chance for uncovering his problem, but also a beautiful woman who is his best chance for finding real love.

Perry and Mickey struggle to expose the evil that is trying to destroy him: Lillia Donovan--an ambitious, calculating woman determined to possess Perry's fortune, business, and his body. Lillia learned about evil firsthand in her past and uses her hatred of men to show Perry and anyone who dares to help him not a shred of mercy.

Until Next Time invokes such a wide array of emotions with the intensely sexual images of Lillia's power over Perry, the deep feelings between Perry and Mickey from their first encounter, and the loving relationships between Perry and his closest friends and family members. These are all people about whom the reader cares and empathizes--even Lillia with her history of abuse that drove her to become the monster she is.

My eyes couldn't move fast enough to suit me as I read the final pages to see who would triumph in this unforgettable battle for one man's soul. Ms. Alexander spins an enthralling tale that delivers on every level. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Different Kind of Book, March 16, 2003

Until Next Time was filled with sexual tension and the never-ending conflict between good and evil. I never knew what was going to happen next. I not only felt for the "good guys", but the bad guy (girl) as well. A chilling ending.

4.0 out of 5 stars Until Next Time keeps you breathless!, January 28, 2003
This review is from: Until Next Time (Paperback)
Perry Connors if a successful businessman living in Arizona, who has just opened a new business venture. Perry has what could be equated as `the Midas Touch', but despite his overwhelming success, he's an unhappy man.
At the root of his discontent are chronic and disturbing dreams, not nightmares per se, but dreams that leave him shaken, exhausted and confused. His ex wife Mollie and a female judge he spurned, Annette Black, are set on destroying him. And his personal assistant, Lillia Donovan, has her own plans in store for Perry, the least of which is seduction and intimate control over his financial empire.
Perry begins seeing a renowned psychiatrist named Mickey Vicente - a beautiful, solid and compassionate woman who is desperate to help him overcome his troubles. But Perry doesn't make her job any easier with his reluctant gravitation toward Lillia, who continues to eerily draw him toward her despite his personal dislike of her.
What forces are at work on Perry are for him and Mickey to discover - before it's too late to save Perry from ruination. And before they do, they both must confront a real evil that will test their burgeoning love, their determination and their very souls.
Until Next Time is a well-written romantic mystery that keeps the reader turning the pages to find the truth. Ms. Alexander handles her audience deftly, revealing the truth layer by intricate layer. Her narrative and dialog are well blended to provide a very smooth read, and her characters exceptionally well wrought - this book is a tease - on more ways than one!

Linda Alexander is either a psychologist pretending to be a great writer or simply a great writer who is pretending to be a psychologist. Her writing is gripping and her plot entrancing!

Incredibly sensual... brutally sexual. The suspense builds on the firm foundation of a tightly woven plot, with readily identifiable characters. It is the story of good vs. evil; of sanity vs. madness. One doesn't just read this story, one becomes involved in it, whether we want to or not. The sensuous horror is matched only by the intricate suspense, with an ending that sucks your breath away. This is a first class work from an extremely talented and engaging author. We should all look forward to her next works.
