Nate Najar - He's GOOD!,

This review is from: Until Now (Audio CD)
This guy is fabulous doing smooth jazz (rather than the straight ahead jazz). Heard him at Clearwater, FL jazz festival 2009 with Mike McArthur on sax. Two bad boys together!!!! and couldn't wait to get Najar's "Until Now" CD. You'll find yourself grooving to "Sunday Serenade" which starts out with a funky beat and combination of Nate's guitar, keyboard and a serious sax. The signature song "Until Now" is very memorable. A laid back cut but clearly shows his skill as a musician. My next 2 favorites are "She's the One for Me" and "Rising Moon". Nate is in a nice mood that makes me think of being on the water or somewhere quiet and peaceful. But don't be fooled since both creations have a lot of soul to them. "One Day at a Time" starts off in a smooth classical guitar mode and brings in a piano that adds a great touch. "Django & Mowgli" hints of a samba beat along with a quartet feel playing in a small intimate setting. "Holding Pattern" picks up the rhythum nicely and in a different manner than "Sunday Serenade". "Human Nature" is great!! A clean crisp play th brings back memories of MJ. "Samba de Nolte" guitar strokes has the flavor of Spain with an edge of jazz. And last but not least is "It's a Good Day" - and that it is if you're listening to this CD!!!! To sum it up...IT'S ALL GOOD!!!

"One Day at a Time" should be every day...,

This review is from: Until Now (Audio CD)
Nate Najar is clearly talented. "One Day at a Time" should be recognized as a modern classic, with its innovative combination of classical-style guitar entry & exit that contains a swirling piano lead reminiscent of Don Scaletta or Chuck Leavell coupled with an intoxicating percussion saved from 1962. Nate Najar provides a smooth bridge between Carmel and South Beach and is an artist that I always look forward to hearing from. If you don't know his work already, check it out today!
