Friendship, Love and Summer in Europe. WOW!, July 2, 2000
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
I have been reading Robin Gunn's books for eight years - ever since I was thirteen. I grew up right along with her character Christy Miller, and Christy's friends. I was sad when the series ended. So when I read that Christy's story was being continued on into "The College Years", I rushed out and ordered the first one, expecting great things. And I was not disappointed! In "Until Tomorrow", Robin Gunn transports the reader to Europe along with Christy Miller and her two best friends, Todd and Katie. I found myself caught up in the adventure of following my favourite friends across the European countryside, and I just could not put the book down! Readers of Robin's "Christy Miller" series will be delighted with this reunion of the friends from that series. Christy is spending three weeks of her summer touring Europe with her two best friends. She can't wait! From the shores of the best fishing hole in Italy to the Blue Grotto in Capri and the wild pastures of the Alps, I laughed quite frequently as I read this new book; Katie is STILL causing accidents that seem to get the best friends in trouble! In spite of her joy and being with her friends again, Christy finds herself confused. Is Todd spending too much time with Katie? Where does Marcos fit in? When will Christy and Todd have some time alone to talk about their relationship? Does he still want to be friends? Or should they break up? And what about Christy's commitment to the work at the orphanage in Basel? Should she quit? I enjoyed catching up on the latest events in Christy's life, and getting to watch as she and Todd grow closer together on this mad dash though Europe. I especially liked the rich descriptions of the countries the three friends pass through and the strange incidents that seem to follow where ever they go, as well as the special moments in Christy's blossoming romance with Todd. At the same time I was impressed with Robin's insights carefully tucked into each adventure, and the chance to "have a peek" into Christy's mind. A trip to the "ends of the Earth" and a romantic kiss mark a new turning in Christy's life. Is she ready, or will she and Todd have to wait "Until Tomorrow"? I would recommend this book and both of Robin's series to any girl at any age - no matter if she is thirteen or ninety! The series "Christy Miller" was followed with the "Sierra Jensen" series - which picks up the story of a girl Christy meets on a trip to England. I can't wait for Robin's next book in the "College Years" series!

The Love Continues..., March 4, 2006
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
If you grew up with Christy Miller you understand this book and the character of Christy, than if you're just randomly picking up "Until Tomorrow" to read. I grew up with The Christy Miller series, a lot of things I learned from life were from Christy, Todd, Katie and the rest of the group. This book continues not only the Christy Miller series but also the Sierra Jensen series which are interlocked.
When Todd and Katie come to Switzerland after a year of seeing Christy who's been studying abroad, Christy starts feeling unsure of her relationship. It's another part of her growing up and another part of her growing relationship with Todd. Todd isn't one of those guys who is over exhuberant, he's very laid back and ALWAYS waits on God's okay before taking the next step in their relationship. Christy is passionate, she's ready to know whether Todd is seeing them together forever and she's also feeling insecure because she, herself, doesn't know whether Todd's the one she's suppose to be with. This isn't the best book in the College Years series, but it has really good moments and it's made me want to go to the Blue Grotto and maybe even have my own adventure finding the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhangen!
If you've read the Christy Miller series, Christy's Diary, Departures, Sierra Jensen series 1-11, all in this order (don't read the last Sierra Book until AFTER "Until Tomorrow"- trust me), than you are ready for Until Tomorrow, otherwise you might feel a little lost because in each of the books, the characters develope more and more.

More than just a story!, July 3, 2000
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
Ms. Gunn has once again written a wonderful testament to her faith. Until Tomorrow takes you back into the lives of Christy Miller and her friends. The book follows Christy, Todd, and Katie on a journey in Europe. Until Tomorrow lets you watch Todd and Christy's relationship grow and reminds the single people that God's timing is always the best. It is very hard to put down and by the end it leaves you with a smile of contentment on your face. If you are like me when I read one of Ms. Gunn's books, it also draws you even closer to the Father. The spiritual lessons packed in this book are the key to its appeal. They tear down walls and bring you to tears. If you have never read one of Robin Jones Gunn's books, I encourage you to try Until Tomorrow. It won't only be a story about friendship and romance, it may also bring about a life-altering change in your life. One review that I read commented on the fact that the book was full of "Why me, Lord?" I didn't find that to be the case at all. To the world's eyes, it may seem that it is too full of God's Word, but for a believer, it is a wonderful testament. Bravo, Ms. Gunn:)
