5.0 out of 5 stars Friendship, Love and Summer in Europe. WOW!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Grown Up For This
It's sad when you've grown up with something, and when you go back as an adult to look at it again, it just doesn't hold up. I was IN LOVE with this series from age 11-16, so when she came out with a new, "grown up" continuation, I couldn't wait. But by "grown up" I think this author still means under 18, because this just really isn't realistic to adult life. Christy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Friendship, Love and Summer in Europe. WOW!, July 2, 2000
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
I have been reading Robin Gunn's books for eight years - ever since I was thirteen. I grew up right along with her character Christy Miller, and Christy's friends. I was sad when the series ended. So when I read that Christy's story was being continued on into "The College Years", I rushed out and ordered the first one, expecting great things. And I was not disappointed! In "Until Tomorrow", Robin Gunn transports the reader to Europe along with Christy Miller and her two best friends, Todd and Katie. I found myself caught up in the adventure of following my favourite friends across the European countryside, and I just could not put the book down! Readers of Robin's "Christy Miller" series will be delighted with this reunion of the friends from that series. Christy is spending three weeks of her summer touring Europe with her two best friends. She can't wait! From the shores of the best fishing hole in Italy to the Blue Grotto in Capri and the wild pastures of the Alps, I laughed quite frequently as I read this new book; Katie is STILL causing accidents that seem to get the best friends in trouble! In spite of her joy and being with her friends again, Christy finds herself confused. Is Todd spending too much time with Katie? Where does Marcos fit in? When will Christy and Todd have some time alone to talk about their relationship? Does he still want to be friends? Or should they break up? And what about Christy's commitment to the work at the orphanage in Basel? Should she quit? I enjoyed catching up on the latest events in Christy's life, and getting to watch as she and Todd grow closer together on this mad dash though Europe. I especially liked the rich descriptions of the countries the three friends pass through and the strange incidents that seem to follow where ever they go, as well as the special moments in Christy's blossoming romance with Todd. At the same time I was impressed with Robin's insights carefully tucked into each adventure, and the chance to "have a peek" into Christy's mind. A trip to the "ends of the Earth" and a romantic kiss mark a new turning in Christy's life. Is she ready, or will she and Todd have to wait "Until Tomorrow"? I would recommend this book and both of Robin's series to any girl at any age - no matter if she is thirteen or ninety! The series "Christy Miller" was followed with the "Sierra Jensen" series - which picks up the story of a girl Christy meets on a trip to England. I can't wait for Robin's next book in the "College Years" series!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Love Continues..., March 4, 2006
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
If you grew up with Christy Miller you understand this book and the character of Christy, than if you're just randomly picking up "Until Tomorrow" to read. I grew up with The Christy Miller series, a lot of things I learned from life were from Christy, Todd, Katie and the rest of the group. This book continues not only the Christy Miller series but also the Sierra Jensen series which are interlocked.

When Todd and Katie come to Switzerland after a year of seeing Christy who's been studying abroad, Christy starts feeling unsure of her relationship. It's another part of her growing up and another part of her growing relationship with Todd. Todd isn't one of those guys who is over exhuberant, he's very laid back and ALWAYS waits on God's okay before taking the next step in their relationship. Christy is passionate, she's ready to know whether Todd is seeing them together forever and she's also feeling insecure because she, herself, doesn't know whether Todd's the one she's suppose to be with. This isn't the best book in the College Years series, but it has really good moments and it's made me want to go to the Blue Grotto and maybe even have my own adventure finding the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhangen!

If you've read the Christy Miller series, Christy's Diary, Departures, Sierra Jensen series 1-11, all in this order (don't read the last Sierra Book until AFTER "Until Tomorrow"- trust me), than you are ready for Until Tomorrow, otherwise you might feel a little lost because in each of the books, the characters develope more and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just a story!, July 3, 2000
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
Ms. Gunn has once again written a wonderful testament to her faith. Until Tomorrow takes you back into the lives of Christy Miller and her friends. The book follows Christy, Todd, and Katie on a journey in Europe. Until Tomorrow lets you watch Todd and Christy's relationship grow and reminds the single people that God's timing is always the best. It is very hard to put down and by the end it leaves you with a smile of contentment on your face. If you are like me when I read one of Ms. Gunn's books, it also draws you even closer to the Father. The spiritual lessons packed in this book are the key to its appeal. They tear down walls and bring you to tears. If you have never read one of Robin Jones Gunn's books, I encourage you to try Until Tomorrow. It won't only be a story about friendship and romance, it may also bring about a life-altering change in your life. One review that I read commented on the fact that the book was full of "Why me, Lord?" I didn't find that to be the case at all. To the world's eyes, it may seem that it is too full of God's Word, but for a believer, it is a wonderful testament. Bravo, Ms. Gunn:)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Extension of Christy and Todd, July 12, 2002
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
This is a must read if you've read the Christy Miller Series. You must read the books in The Christy Miller series before starting this to appreciate it, though. It's wonderfully written, with a real romance that teenagers can relate to, with wonderful characters that have been masterfully developed. Its the beginning of the end, but it gives those of us that have loved Christy, related to her, and read her almost fairy tale life as it unfolded, a much needed closure.
The book brings out some of Christy's weaknesses as well as her strengths and develops Todd and Katie more than ever. It will grip you, pull you in, and leave you wanting more. I highly recommend it.

This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
I have read all 12 books in the Christy Miller series, about 3 times! I loved each and every one of them, but Until Tomorrow was incredible. I started the book yesterday, and finished it about an hour ago. I couldn't put it down! These books encourage and inspire me so much, and I can't wait to read the last 2 in the series! Robin, please don't end the Christy and Todd series. I love reading about these two, and all of their friends, so much. You write beautifully and your characters give me hope. Maybe my Todd Spencer is out there somewhere! Please continue to write these awesome books, and if you can, continue the story of Christy and Todd. I would love to hear more about their life together growing in Christ!

5.0 out of 5 stars To good for words!, July 2, 2000
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
This book has stuned me to silence! It was sooo good! It starts out with Todd, Katie, and Christy preparing for a 3 week trip touring Europe. They start off with no plans, just dreams! There adventures take them from high in the Alps to the prisons of Italy, but no matter where they are there's always adventure and love following! The book started out a little rocky, and I hoped it wouldn't go like that through the whole thing, but it turns out great in the end. In fact, the end brought tears to my eyes. I don't know if it was from the book ending or the romance involved in the end but I do know they were there. Welcome back Christy! I cannot wait for the next book and hope that it's just as good as this one!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! I WAS SO GALD WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT ROBIN WAS WRITTING A NOTHER BOOK ABOUT CHRISTY AND TODD. IT WAS SO SWEET WHEN HE TOLD HER ABOUT THE WAY HE FELT I ALMOST STARTED CRYING. IF YOU HAVE READ ANY OF THE CHRISTY MILLER BOOKS YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK. IN THE BOOK YOU GO ALONG WITH KATIE, TODD, AND CHRISTY AS THEY TRAVEL AROUND EUROPE AND YOU ASLO GET TO CONTINUE WITH THE GROWING RELATIONSHIP THAT IS GOING ON BETWEEN TOOD AND CHRISTY, NOT TO MENTION KATIE! SO GO OUT AND READ THIS BOOK ,IT IS A MUST! I CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT ONE COMES OUT!

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't wait Until Tomorrow!, September 27, 2000
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
What can I say? I laughed, I cried, it was the best Christy Miller book so far! It has been so much fun growing up with Christt, Katie, Todd, and the rest of the gang. I was soooo excited when I found out there was a new book in the series! Christy is off in Europe with her two best friends, Todd Spencer (who also happens to be her boyfriend) and Katie Weldon. Through the trip, they all do a lot of traveling. Not just physically, but emotionally, and spiritually. Christy is wondering what lies in store for her and Todd; Katie wants to know if she will ever find the right boyfriend, and Todd is just his carefree self. Christy, however, has a lot of doubts. Is Todd being fliratious with Katie? What lies in store for her future, or better yet, her future with Todd? Will they have a chance to cement their relationship and finally cement it? This book is deffinately amazing. Ms. Gunn has deffinately written another amazing book- and I have but two more words: Bravo! Encore!

4.0 out of 5 stars Until Tomorrow, August 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Until Tomorrow (Christy and Todd: The College Years #1) (Paperback)
I agree that this book as well as other Robin Jones Gunn books are great. What has called my attention is that everyone has remarked about Christy and the misunderstanding at the beginning of the book and no one has commented about Todd and Katie. Even thou I agree that Todd is wonderfull I really think he was very thoughtless in his comunication with Christy at the start of the book. He really help set up the stage for the misunderstanding that ocurred. It was great to see that as the booked moved on Todd was more thoughtfull of Christy's needs. I think that girls should be clear that no matter how great a guy, a girl should always be treated as a special treasure.
