Obscure b-sides!, June 8, 2002
This review is from: Untitled (Audio CD)
While I am not a fan of the Pumpkins "Untitled", there previous single "Try,try, try" is exceptionally redone here. The original was great, and this is almost as good. It sounds acoustic, kinda, with sounds incorporated into the recording. This one also has different lyrics. The building rock closer from Machina, "The Age of Innosence" is done well with interesting ambient souns, making it sound as if it was recorded live without studio help. I guess most Pumpkins fans would rather die than not support their leader, Corgan, as would I. If nothing else, buy this for the novelty and cool pictures of the band in the studio.

The Final Farewell, August 6, 2002
This review is from: Untitled (Audio CD)
I love this song. I've heard it on the greatest hits album its a defite must have. It's the bands final farewell to all the fans out there. The Alt version of try try try is very good also. I have yet to listen to the early version of age of innocence but if its as good as the final version then this definately worth the buy.

Great addition to the collection, but for the right price, September 25, 2010
This review is from: Untitled (Audio CD)
Say what you will about the second coming of the Smashing Pumpkins in 2007, but to deny "Untitled" as a great swan song for the breakup of the band in 2000 is pure lunacy. Happy, sure, but a testament to the band's ability to write and play well. I suppose the title track of this single wouldn't be out of place on Machina I, but I will admit that is my favourite album (but the premaster is better if you can find it online).
It's backed by two b-sides, both of which are exclusive to the single and really add value for the SP collector: alternate versions of "Try" and "Age of Innocence" not already collected on Machina II. Considering these two songs are two of the most well written in the Machina sessions, the songs themselves are attractive; the fact that they're otherwise unreleased adds to their value.
Overall, this is a worthy purchase for the late-term Pumpkins fan and/or collector, but you don't want to overshoot its value. You don't have to pay $12 for 3 songs, so don't!
