I am not sure if in 1993(when released) was talked about being cool, but I had good times with this game, and I have recently purchased an FC twin consle, and this game was great! there are four assignments(which I will refer to then as Missions)to do in any order you please:
1. Downtown Shootout: You have to shoot baddies in an ally it seems, they just pop out, wait about 2 seconds and they fire, giving you some response time, A yellow bar on the top middle of the screen represents your health, while another idetical bar right below your health is enemy health or overall enemys in the area. you only have a double barreled shotgun, which fires two seperate shots, then you must reload MANUALLY!
When your health bar depletes, your dead, when enemy bar depletes, you move on to the next area, fully healed. I think there are five areas in total in this mission, with a boss at the end, in later areas, enemys start to appear on streets,doors, etc.

2.The Courthouse: You get an Overhead view on this mission, you must first pick up smoke bombs in the middle of the area, they are not quickly located but as soon as you find them, you don't forget, you must first rescue the hostages scatterd around the area, with your smoke bombs, simply before you enter the structure, throw in a smoke gernade, you have infinite so no worrys, shot the bad guys in there and save the hostages, after all hostages have been rescued
(by just touching them,no escorting or other complicates) you must defuse a bomb(also by just touching it) and MISSION COMPLETE! No other areas.

3.The Gun Run: A simple Gunning mission, nothing much to explain, run from sides only like Downtown Shootout, But this time, enemys just run around all over the place, aim and shoot. Same health and enemy presence bars as well. Very fun, Destroy a boat at the end.

4.The Warehouse: I think it is called a 2D view, see yourself and enemys from a side veiw, anyway, you run around kill bad guys, preety fun, no strategy involved; I think there are six areas with a mini boss at each end, a henchmen on a turrent, not very difficult, just don't stay in one place, in a head-to-head battle, the enemy easily wins.(and quickly too) at the last area before finishing this mission, a couple goons come up to you in, what appears to a lift with other enemys coming down from chains and throwing gerades which are 1-hit kills, but just stay on your toes and you'll be fine.

5.Alphonse Capone: LOCKED! YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL OTHER MISSIONS BEFORE PLAYING THIS ONE!

And I think I should keep it a secret on it's details, just like me for ten years not know what's in it.
