Untouched is the second book in the Amoveo series. I recommend starting this series from the beginning. You could read it without reading Unleashed (book one) but you would miss another great story and you probably wouldn't understand the plot as much as someone who started with book one! This series is a unique take on shifters!

Untouched begins at Malcolm and Samantha's wedding with Kerry doing her best to fit in and not touch anyone. They are worried about her safety because the problems from book one have not been completely resolved. Sam and Malcolm hire Dante to be Kerry's bodyguard and Kerry is not a happy camper. Dante goes to Kerry's modeling gig with her and things slowly progress with their relationship. Things get crazy and they realize too late that there's a problem.

Unleashed has mystery, romance and action all wrapped up between it's pages. It was a good adventure and I'm looking forward to reading the next book, Untamed. Sara Humphreys has me hooked!

I recommend this to everyone who likes shifter books. This is Not a YA book.

Icky, germs, cooties, don't touch but you are welcome to look all you want. Feast your eyes upon a beauty to behold. Untouched by Sara Humphreys' main character, Kerry Smithson is lovable, adorable, kind and compassionate but untouchable.

I found Untouched to be a sweet, thrilling and fascinating story of love and acceptance. Can you imagine living without the ability to enjoy the sense of touch from another person or family member? Hard to image, but there are children who can not tolerate being touched or embraced encountering physical contact by their parents or a small selected group of people. Many of these individuals adjust as they grow, developing coping mechanisms and learn to adjust accepting minor physical contact.

Ms. Humphrey's' aptly uses this bizarre issue as the foundation for her key character: Kerry Smithson in Untouched is passionate, heart warming, mystery loaded with paranormal activities. Untouched is based upon a gorgeous, model in high demand and known worldwide. Kerry is a statuesque woman with supple curves, beautiful haunting eyes who is absolutely breathtaking. Upon seeing her, Kerry's magnetism causes staring and the verge to touch her.
Kerry Smithson is referred to in the modeling industry as an "Ice Goddess" because she allows no one invading her personal space. Classified by many professional in the modeling business as a germophobic mirroring the character in the television series "Monk".

Kerry does not have close, intimate relationships with people who can touch her with the exception of her childhood best friend, Samantha. Kerry's sensory receptors are explosive and her ultra sensitivity to tactile stimuli is highly unusual causing her tremendous pain accompanied by visions when she makes contact with another.

3 Stars! First of all, let me just say what a gorgeous cover this book has! All he needs is some hair:-)

Untouched is really a sweet romance/thriller story about discovery with a strong paranormal element. Dante is hired to be Kerry's bodyguard, and he is one hot male:-) They head to New Orleans for a photoshoot. She is a plus-sized model. While in New Orleans, romance blooms between Kerry and Dante. And it is a sweet, very romantic unfolding. In the meantime, there is a villain conspiring against Kerry, leaving threatening notes about her imminent death. Protecting Kerry absolutely becomes Dante's life. Attempting to uncover the mystery of who the villain is proves to be difficult, with nearly everyone they know becoming a possible traitor.

Untouched was an interesting story, yet flawed. I enjoyed it, but.....

Some issues:

Dante, a very sexy, big, strong, yummy man, had a very strange animal chose for his shifter character. I had trouble time and time again getting over that. I love shifter stories, however, I usually like the animal to be, let me say, bigger??

The writing style was not fabulous. Some issues and thoughts were pointed out redundantly to the reader again and again. Yes, I get it already!

The Punisher was the evil villain of Untouched. The Punisher? Really? Need I say more?

They spoke a language to invoke their magic and it was called The Ancient Language. I just didn't find that very original.

Some parts I loved:

The sweet romance between Dante and Kerry. Kerry had never been able to touch people before and to be able to touch Dante without feeling pain was wonderful.

The Amoveo are shape-shifting animal clans who live secretly among humans and must find their pre-destined soul mate while avoiding the enemy that seeks to destroy them all.
Beautiful plus-size model Kerry Smithson appears to have it all, but inside she harbors a crippling secret and avoids all physical contact. Until she encounters gorgeous Dante Coltari, an Amoveo shifter. In her, he believes he has finally found his life mate. But how does he convince her...and keep her safe?

If you're a hardcore Paranormal romance fan you should be fairly familiar with the reoccurring themes of destiny, betrayal, and the one true mate phenomenon. Untouched hit all of them on the head. I liked the story but Kerry's character dug on my nerves. She acted like a spoiled, snotty brat the first half of the book. I get it. She's had a tough life. If she touches anyone she gets violently ill while getting a inside look at the person's darkest secrets. But dang, Dante is a gorgeous guy who's been nothing but flirty/sweet to her and she just keeps knocking him. If I could have jumped in the book I would have given Kerry a shove and welcomed Dante with open arms :)
Once Kerry's tantrums ended and she finally gave Dante a chance their chemistry was was off the charts.

I was a little worried that I would be lost because I didn't read the first in the series (Unleashed) but was presently surprised that the story was easy to follow. The Hero and Heroine from the first novel are present during a lot of Untouched, so if you have read the first be glad to know that you will get some insight into what they're up to.

All in all, Untouched is a solid addition to the Paranormal romance genre. If you've got a hankering for some hot shifters, a little danger, and some mystery I suggest picking this one up.
