I heard "I Know You By Heart" on the radio, and bought the album because of that song. I got it, and like all of the songs. "Suddenly Beautiful" is really pretty, and I remember "Blue Streak Cadillac" from Dawson's Creek.

Katrina Carlson is a new artist that I have been exposed to lately. I found the CD to be excellent to listen to with such a beautiful melodic voice that Katrina possess. As an merging artist she may be pigeon toed to a type of format or even compared to other women that give us the music that we all love. I concentrated on Katrina and kept away from making comparisons and reviewed this CD with pleasure. From the first song or "intro" and ending with "outro kind of took me by surprise. Jumping immediately into "Suddenly Beautiful" allowing my imagination take very easily. Lyrically stating that she is not the perfect type of girl but falls in love. Much of the CD is visual and gives a type of inspiration by placing a scene in ones own daydreams while listening.

Katrina Carlson's voice is inspiring and I can tell you that I really enjoyed listening to "Untucked" many times. It took me away as I was mesmerized by her voice which made it so great to listen as I snuck into my own trance to the music. Adding a bit of jump to her songs that kept the flavor of the music upbeat and kind of funky. This blend worked very well and kept me spinning the CD numerous times on the player. Katrina Carlson possesses you on "Untucked" immediately and I did not have to grow to listen to the music as many new works that come out. A little bit of rock always goes a long way with a song like "Dive" which got me bopping my head back and forth hearing about "dive bombing babies", opening me up for a small laugh at the same time. "Closer (freak)" and "Somewhere Over You" showed an energy to her music which I tend to enjoy. Creating a type of personal relationship with Katrina and myself on "Untucked". Katrina's blend of upbeat and softer music previews a diversity that she has towards her writing and music.

From the "Intro" to the "Outro," Katrina Carlson's sophomore effort grips the listener and captivates them from beginning to end. Especially impressive tracks are "Suddenly Beautiful," "Go-To Girl," and my personal favorite, "Blue Streak Cadillac." Every song tells a great story and leaves the listener visualizing about that story...this record will leave you breathless, untucked and wanting more. With the right support, Katrina could be the next Sheryl Crow!!

I've been a fan since the "Apples for Eve" days, so I was really looking forward to hearing the new "Untucked" disc. Wow! Katrina has really grown as singer, songewriter, and artist, and this disc perfectly captures that progression. From the soft understated songs like "Suddenly Beautiful" and "Breathe Underwater" to the back-porch shuffle of "New Shoes" to the guitar crunch of "Dive" and "Getaway Car," this disc rocks! I also love "Blue Streak Cadillac" and the duet with Benny Mardones "I Know You By Heart."

I love this album! I was a fan of Apples for Eve and am pleasantly surprised by the latest release of Katrina Carlson... She is a hidden gem! She is soulful, funky and has a beautiful melodic voice... you can get lost in this album...Get on her bandwagon now, so you can claim to have been there from the beginning!

I saw Katrina when she visited Central New York with Benny Mardones. Liked the duet "I know you by heart" that they sang together. They had the CD for sale on a small table next to the stage, I had to have it. Am sure glad I made that choice about five seconds into the CD on my way home from the concert. Every cut is right on. I have long enjoyed female artists, from Pat Benatar to Avril Lavigne, Katrina has earned my respect as have these other outstanding ladies. They can write, play and sing. It's certainly more than talent; you know they put it all out there for the world to hear and feel. Hats off to you Katrina !

This CD was recommended to me by a friend and was my first exposure to Katrina Carlson. Now she has a new fan. This is a great CD, well worth a try if you're unfamiliar with her as I was.
