This book deals with a critical but unrecognized and undiscussed issue of twins who lose a twin early in life. People do not recognize how frequently twins are conceived and then one is lost early in the pregnancy or at some other point. The knowledge of the lost twin impacts the survivor in subtle but powerful ways. Twins carry cells from each other, called sibling microchimerism, so the knowledge of the lost twin is biological.

It is my hope that this book finds its way into the hands of the many who have been unknowingly looking for their twins all these years and that it will provide significant "aha!" moments. As a mother of a set of twins, where one was lost early in the pregnancy, I have seen the impact on my daughter, the surviving twin. This is a much needed book!
