Book Description

Alexandra had married the man of her dreams and they had their whole life ahead of them. They had a wonderful marriage, a beautiful house and essentially they could not be happier. Things were falling into place as intended, until one beautiful evening turned devastatingly tragic. The catastrophic events that transpired ensured that none of their lives would ever be the same.

Faced with an impossible moral decision, Alex had to make a choice that would come back to haunt her in years to come, once again forcing her to tempt the hands of fate.

How does a random murder shatter the many lives of those within the killer's path?

How do you pick up the pieces of your life when unforeseen circumstances alter your future forever?

Unwanted Dreams provides just the right amount of twists and turns, leaving the reader in suspense, pondering the following question: How strong is the bond that exists between family and how far would you be willing to go to save your own?

About the Author

Elizabeth was born and raised in New York and it is there where she started her career in writing, (while actually working in the technical field), fifteen years ago.  Part of her job description included the creation of technical manuals and teaching others the fine art of using a computer.
During that time, she realized that she enjoyed the writing and creative portion of her job function more than any other aspect.
Since then, she has been writing a variety of genres, including memoirs, short stories and horror.
As an avid dog lover, she spends a great deal of time volunteering for dog rescue organizations and is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of "Finally Home" to a foundation that helps abandoned dogs find their forever homes.
Elizabeth's dogs have always been one of her top priorities and they are also one of her inspirations for wanting to write on a full-time basis.  "I can't think of a better way to work than to have your dogs as co-workers!"
Elizabeth lives in Las Vegas, NV with her wonderful husband, their three dogs and the wonderful memories of their golden retriever, Buddy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life and death December 8, 2010
By SRMyers
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is yet another amazing book by Elizabeth Parker. Adding her own twists to the crime fiction genre, Elizabeth has created a tale of a family and a serial killer that will keep you reading. She uses the mysterious bond between twins, the abuse suffered during the early childhood of a serial killer, and the love of family to present a story of crime and of love lost and found only to be lost once again. The mind and motivation of the killer is presented in a way that might get people to take a slightly different view of some murderers. This is one crime novel that does not get over-burdened with the forensics and law enforcement lingo which makes it an easy read. The way Elizabeth focuses mainly on the family and the killer creates a story that effectively weaves together both love and hate, good and evil. Anyone who wants a story that will be exciting and move your emotions should read this book. - Sheila Rae Myers, Author

This book was an excellent read and I couldn't put it down! The story starts with a seemingly perfect relationship and slowly evolves into a story with numerous twists and turns. The whole concept of the story makes you think. Definitely recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twin Connection? July 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lots of suspence in this book. I have always heard that twins have a special connection. This book shows this connection.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I wish it had ended differently, but I would suggest it to everyone who enjoys a good mystery.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping September 12, 2010
From the start of "unwanted dreams" you automatically become entangled in the lives of Alex and Jack. There is some Mystique in Jacks character that keeps you guessing at first if he is all that he appears to be.. upon reading on you become one with the other characters as well. The author has you feeling every emotion the characters feel. You as the reader will go through feelings of hurt/Anger/intensity/love/uncertainty/peace all things rolled into one. Up till the end you want to read on to get closure on the characters lives. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery filled with emotion.

I'm the type of person that has a crazy schedule, but try to put a few minutes aside each day to read something for amusement. My "few minutes" of daily reading of Unwanted Dreams turned into "many minutes" as I couldn't put the book down! The twists, turns and wave of emotions that went through me while reading this book kept me wanting more. If you want to read a generic story of boy and girl meet, boy and girl marry, then happily ever after - this is so NOT the book for you! It's a great story of love, hate, jealousy, anger, envy, and family. A great book that portrays a killer in a different light, one I didn't imagine - almost sympathetic...almost. The dreams were amazingly creative! What an imagination!! Where does she get her inspiration?? Wow! A great read showing that one act, at one moment, can change the lives of so many!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, bad writing February 21, 2011
By mg2765
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked the plot of this book very much. It kept me interested and reading late into the night. However, I find her writing style to be extremely wooden and simplistic. It's kind of like reading a story written by a high school student. She writes in a very "written language" way, which makes the dialogue seem unrealistic for her characters. I found that frustrating and distracting while trying to enjoy the story line. But, if you can get past the writing style, this is a great story and an intersting concept.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Story! December 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Wow! That is the first word that pops into my head upon finishing this book. I had no idea what an incredible story I was going to be embarking on when I first started reading. At first this book leads you in one direction, begins going in a different direction, and before you know it the story branches off in a completely unexpected way yet wraps itself up neatly at the end coming full circle tying up every last detail perfectly. Character development was spot on as well. You really felt like you grew with the characters as they developed and cared about what happened to each and every one of them, whether for them or against them. The very last line in the book left me with a tear in my eye (or perhaps a few dozen tears).

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to just about anyone. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice thriller March 25, 2012
By hawkssr
This was a nice thriller. I found myself not wanting to put the book down once things got going. I thought the writing was smooth and easy to read. This was the second book of this author that I have read ("Phobia" being the first) and I've found them both entertaining and page turners. Next I have her book, "Evil's Door" which I can't wait to read!

More About the Author

"Raising awareness about dog adoption and rescue, one book at a time!"

I live in Las Vegas, NV with my husband and two retrievers. I had written my first book about dogs, Finally Home in the early part of 2010. Throughout my years of living with Buddy, our golden retriever, I always wanted to get his stories down on paper. They were just too comical to keep to myself. If you're reading this, then you might as well know, I am a die-hard dog lover and they are my inspiration for writing. Though not all of my books are for dog-lovers, most do have a dog making an appearance now and then. I enjoy writing about their antics and incorporate them in a few of my thrillers. In addition, I donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book to various animal rescue groups. Since 2010, I've written twelve books consisting of six books about dogs, one inspirational book of quotes and five thrillers.

You may notice that I have a very dark mind and an equally off-beat and witty sense of humor. Sometimes you'll find it revealed in my books. Hope you enjoy them and many thanks for stopping by.
